10th AE Sub Forum

The idea was brought forth in the 10th AE thread to create a sub-forum within the 2nd gen section for 10th Anniversary discussions. Mods, what do you say, can you hook us up?

With only 1500 produced, we're looking at a max volume of about 1000 members? Is that enough?

it would be a cool idea. maybe a branch off of the second gen forum to talk specifically about our cars, possible meets and whatnot.

i think the AE is special enough of a car to have its own sub fourm.
yeah we may be only looking at around 1000ish members, but im sure
the thread/sub fourm will get tons of hits.
with all respect to all T2 owners, i feel like AE owners that fell in love with this "special edition" T2, then went out and hunted for this and this only, share something more than your average T2 owner.
It may be only a difference of paint, tinted glass, momo shifter, rims and leather...
i guess it knowing that not only do you own one of 1500 ever produced.... you also own a piece of MAZDA history!

as much as I love 10th AE's, there isnt anything that mechanically different from any other s4 TII to prompt having its own sub forum.

I say we have a seperate vert forum as well

and lets get a seperate blue car with blue interior forum also

seriously though- what would you guys discuss?
what to do when your bronze windshield breaks?
how to keep people from stealing your emblems?

I think I see a 1:3 ratio of rAEs versus TIIs being sold, I sometimes question how a car so "rare" can have so many being sold all the time?

+1 for retarded

this is just a way for you guys to feel superior. there is very few minor differences between a TII and an AE. last thing i want is to have to scroll down further past a relatively useless sub forum.

want to make a thread about how to restick the AE emblems on the fenders? want to make a thread about the washer sprayers? want to make a thread about the alarm glass breakage sensors?

come on...

alright i can see both points of view here. there arent too many differences here between 10ae and t2. i dont think the 10ae are trying 2 feel superior, they jus feel unique with there cars and i think everyone would agree a seperate section for something exclusive to themselves and a few others would be neat, 10ae or otherwise. the big advantage i see is that the few extra things that are on 10ae's that could need fixed, would have posts responded to faster, and if something was for sale exclusively 10ae then it would be easier to be found and convenient. and im not tryin to **** anyone off, but seriously, u dont want to scroll past another forum? could it possibly be that difficult and make some life altering experience happened because u spent an extra .0003 seconds scrolling down. anyways jus my 2 cents

i think there should be a subforum. I know my girlfriend and I would keep a thread going with the restoration/de-ricing of her 10thAE

it would also make it easier for people who (unfournatly) are parting out 10thAE's get the parts to the cars they shoudl be on, keeping as many on the road as we can

if they do it for ya then they need to make a sub forum for every model then to be fair.

do we really need sub forums for 10AE, GXL, TII, GTX, vert, SE, GTU and GTUs?

i think we can agree that everyone loves their cars equally, there should be no priveleges handed out. if you believe it is the rarity factor then the '89GTUs has you beat still so get in line.

sorry to sound so harsh but really.

I thought it was the 1990 GTU was the year that they produced only 500? And i think the 10th anniversary is worth more because the 1990 GTU was not much of a collector car they just stopped making them and just called it a coupe instead of a GTU. I do agree some of the other owners would like to have a sub form so why not let them. Just my 2 cents

As much as I may personally like the idea this is something that is very unlikely to happen for the reasons posted above.

If you could actually find about 100 actual users interested I would bring this to the other admins attention, but I seriously doubt you will find that many interested individuals.

Why? There were only 1500 AEs produced, and there are far fewer on the road now. Besides that, they are nothing more then a standard TII with a slightly different interior, badging and bronze glass. Nothing else about the car is non-standard and adding another forum would mean yet another sub-forum to clutter things up, make searching more difficult, and mean the moderators have to work harder. Also the forum would be such a low traffic sub-forum that posting to it would be almost pointless.

If we create a 10AE forum then it also means creating:
  • GTUs Forum
  • S4 Sport Forum
  • 'Vert Forum
  • Probably a few more I am forgetting

Ok.... lol I think it would be a pretty good idea just for discussion wise. However a lot of you are right when it comes to the traffic part, there isnt much more we can talk about when it comes to the 10AE over the TII. I think MFP was throwing an idea out there, and it wasnt that bad of an idea... But seriously... how many people are going to say , "well if there is a sub forum for a 10ae, then we need one for the gxl,gtu,TII,verts...." I think he, and everyone else on here understands that.. Im a 10ae owner, and i agree with it wouldnt get enough traffic, sad but true... so why is this thread still going??
