What's the latest?
So...my build is moving along at a snail's pace. Anyway, I want to relocate the battery to the bin and so I want a lightweight drycell. What's the latest flavour? Please include price, size, weight and where to buy if possible.
Braille is made by Odyesey, and are available at BASS Pro Shops for trolling motors, if you want to drive down, I will come with, need to get some new camo and some things for the new toys!
Braille is actually made by East Penn Battery co, who also makes Deka batteries. they are just over priced versions with SAE terminals of similar Deka batteries.
the two best choices for lightweight batteries are the Odyssey PC680 or a Deka ETX series (i.e. ETX20L). these are pretty easy to find at most battery places too.
and yeah see my thread, i didn't do a relocate but i recently put in a new lightweight 'dry' battery and did a lot of research on the best ones for the price:

if you don't drive your car in the winter you can get away with using a 15lb battery vs. 40 lb.

That reminds me,of the Time I saw a Camaflouge wallet!..WTF do you need a Camo wallet For?..are you gonna be Pulling Money out in the Middle of the Forest?NO!..(BAMBO wants Cash..or Else..haha!)...and Besides,If you DROP the damn thing,in the Forest, you Lose it!..Forever!..anyways,back to Batteries..they have Lawn tractor Batteries at Wally World for 28 bucks right now..300 Cranking Amps..Is that Enough to Start a "good running, good Starting,No head-ache" RX7?
i saw those batteries at Wal-Mart. most likely they would work, 300 amps is enough to start our cars. but i would be worried about the long-term life of those batteries in an automotive environment. there must be a reason they are $28
.
but hey, worth trying i guess.

Cool, thanks for all the info. The car won't be driven in the winter, and I don't plan on running a big stereo either. Tunes are fun in my truck. But in my 7, I love to listen to the car. Strange, but true.
