Well, winter was not kind to my RX-7. I went our to install a fuel tank and polyurethane suspension bushings and found the rust in the rear worse than last year. I'm debating cutting my losses and buying something newer without rust.

 

Ahhh thats shitty news Steve.....I guess just save up for that R1 eh?

 

Rust never sleeps. it must be stopped!

How bad is it? You'd be amazed as to what can and can't be fixed.

 

You would also be amazed at how expensive, and crappy it can be if you do it yourself, it just gets to the point where you might as well get a new shell like I did, if any one is allowed to hate rust it's me, but my car was very good to me, so I can't complain.

 

Maybe I'll take some pics and get your opinions. I just hate bodywork. I wish I'd had somewhere to store it over the winter.

 

Here are some pictures of the rust. I know it's not as bad as some of the cars I've seen, but it's much worse than last year.

 

That is pretty fixable, no penetrating rust holes yet.

 

yeah, but now is time to deal with it.

My FB had no floors or fenderwells and I fixed it.

 

the inner fenders on my first '84 were so bad when it rained the tire was kicking up all kinds of water inside the car, it was hitting the windshield after i pulled the trim and carpets! i got them entrely replaced good as new (then the engine went ) but it was really bad and got fixed great! don't lose hope!
