I have stock 2mm seals if you can use these.
The engine is going on its 4th year, and if it has a sticking seal it will break either now or shortly later, no point in taking risk with housings etc and the engine is coming apart this weekend. The problem now is the apex seals were shipped via ground not express so they wont be here until Tuesday at the earliest. If someone has a set of new 2mm Carbon apex seals and springs I will gladly replace them next week if we can use them this weekend

The stock 2mm steel seals will float over 8500rpm, which is where we spend hopefully more than 75% of the engines operating time lol. But I really do appreciate the offer!

unfortunately I had to give up my spot for the 13th as a bunch ofg my parts are being held hostage in customs with no clear eta.....but i will be there trackside to cheer you guys on

Well what a story I have for you guys today. Took the car apart at my shop to make it easier to get the engine out this afternoon. After getting to Marks and starting to remove parts, we pulled off the carb and mainfold, and with a Pport you can see right into the chambers. My machinist and overall genius Kam was there and was playing with the apex seals etc and everything appeared normal!?
Another friend of theirs came by and after some leak down tests etc said to put the manifold/carb back on and the distributor etc. He wanted to run it and kill one rotor at a time to see which one was wasnt running. After a quick test we found it wasnt the rear it was the front! Now, lets go back a week when this problem reared its ugly head. I said "are you sure its not the carb?" and I was told "no way". Okay so the car is running on one rotor and we pour gas into the front barrel of the weber and low and behold it runs fine! We stop pouring and it only runs on one rotor again. The carb comes apart again and when it goes back together.............................runs perfect! Moral of the story do all the tests before you condemn an engine!!! We were going to tear it all down and when it went back together we would have had the same problem! Weather permitting the 01 car will be at the Sigma event!!

Well I am planning to make it to the June DDT event and actually be on the track!! After this weekend heading down to TMP and back with Lucas oil stabilizer in some fresh 10W30 engine oil, the oil consumption and stumbling problems my 79 has exhibited since I bought it have disappeared. Had a great drive home and finally got to feel the real power of the original 12A in perfect running order. This is of course my perspective on the power, many would still consider the car slow, but I have been driving cars for the past 4 years that are overweight pigs with small or low powered engines.
I am however not going to register till likely the end of the month so I can be sure the engine doesn't crap out on me and the problems don't resurface. If all holds together, I will likely be on the track in June.

Well I just signed up for the June 10th event. My 79 continues to run well after 1000km with the Lucas in it so I feel safe putting it on the track and having some fun. See you all at the track.

When I got my Cougar, it was running Dynamic Suspension 3 way adjustables, OH ...MY ... GAWD. It was like a light shining down on me. I had grip everywhere. I could drive over curbs like they weren't there, I could put power down like nothing and never ever have to worry about track undulations. MY high HP FWD car drove like a RWD car. The best thing is that they can be adjusted to do almost anything you want, smooth tracks, rogh tracks 125 lb rates up to 1100 lb rates. I loved the difference they made so much that I decided to try to adapt the spare set to the RX7. Good shocks are good, great shocks can transform your life.

No real support just sales support. Not even sure if they are rebuilable as Im sure they have released the oil used/gas pressure etc. In fact even one supplier said that the HSD's are more or less for street cars and if you are serious about suspension this is not one to get. I assume for my driving skill they are probable more then adequate but a better performing suspension just might make that much more of a difference?

Just a friendly reminder that our early pre-registration will close this sunday, June 3rd. Please remember to pre-register before the deadline if you plan on coming out to SRTA #2 at DDT, and save yourself $40.
FYI, I use Bilstein shocks and love them. I've used some coilovers in the past on the FD and various other cars. In the end, I like my current setup the best. Having non-adjustable suspension forced me to spend my time tuning other important areas of the suspension or car in general.
Non-adjustable shocks are also more durable, and it's just 1 less thing to worry/think about when tracking, which is always a good thing.
In general, I take a pretty unique approach with my car. Most people will not agree with me.
