Arrow RHD vs. LHD pricing ( USA vs. CAN )

Just wanted to compare the price of FD around America. I heard that in us JDM was more expensive than LHD.

I live in Quebec (CAN) and here's the pricing for FD's :

RHD (92-94) : around 10-11k (CAN$ so 8k-9K US$),
stock and clean 95000 - 105000 KM ( 60000 - 65000 miles )
or
CB, weels and cheap body kit with broken interior partS

LHD: I found 2 for sales in Quebec (Montreal region) one was very
well build but no price.
The other one :
Stock and clean (94 FD) Full equiped
33000 miles
17000 CAN$ ( US 13700$ )

Feel free to post pricing in your region for both RHD and LHD

Thanks

+1 ... The resale on the rhd would be very hard. You would have to find a full out rotary enthusiast to buy it.

LHD should always be more expensive then RHD given the same conditions. It all depends on whats been done to the car and how it was maintained as well as condition.

Yeah LHD always more expensive than RHD, even though RHD tend to have a lower km on engine, but I vote for LHD.....

generally speaking I vote for LHD, unless you search for a good one and import the car yourself form japan. I see so many disasters from the FDs imported by these so called "JDM shops". They buy em off scrap yards and they manage to sell em for $10k.

I own a RHD because I can't afford to pay $20k for a 15 years old car that needs a lot of money to maintain. Also because one of my best friends was able to have one shipped from japan for me

The same question poping up in the supraforums as well....Its strange at first but if you check out the production numbers here that I've searched out long and hard for...you'll see why MK4 supras and rx7 fds cost much more here than in little Japan.

UNITED STATES
US-Spec Acura/Honda NSX = 8,949
US-Spec Toyota Supra MK4 = 11,239
US-Spec Mazda RX7 FD = 13,879
US-Spec Nissan 300ZX Z32 = 89,156

CANADA
C-Spec Acura/Honda NSX = 698
C-Spec Toyota Supra MK4 = 230
C-Spec Mazda RX7 FD = 682
C-Spec Nissan 300ZX Z32 = ~9,000

JAPAN
J-Spec Acura/Honda NSX = 7,395
J-Spec Toyota Supra MK4 = 44,532
J-Spec Mazda RX7 FD = 52,498
J-Spec Nissan 300ZX Z32 = 64,884
Nissan Skyline R34 = 64,623

EUROPE
E-Spec Acura/Honda NSX = 1,390
E-Spec Toyota Supra MK4 = ~600
E-Spec Mazda RX7 FD = ~1,000
E-Spec Nissan 300ZX Z32 = ~1,000

ASIA/OTHERS
Acura/Honda NSX = 203

Pretty much sums up why LHD for fds cost much more...its all supply and demand. If you guys check out prices in Japan for say NSXs' their about 30% more expensive than in US where NSXs are cheapest and even some in Canada.

Also people that plan on selling their cars sometime in the furture JDMs will most definately depreciate the most as every year people will be able to import a newer model with fewer KMs until the very last year...LHD you really have nothing to worry about I say everyone with LEFT should keep their car would probably worth something especially the C-Specs unlike JDMs. If you look at classifieds look at how many JDM fd etc are for sale not one LHD why is everyone selling their so called "dream" car?
