Quick Question: Max PSI
Quick Question: Max PSI
2nd gen engine that is in good healthy shape and never has seen boost... What is roughly the maximum boost you can pump into it without blowing any of the seals??...

I read that somewhere in the 35 - 40psi range is where bad things start to happen. End plates crack and things like that, the seals are not necessarily the things to fail first. That is, of course, if you have enough fuel, proper timing and all that good stuff.

pretty much covers it all there^
of course you could also factor in chaos theory, AKA **** happens theory...

There is a guy in the states running 50psi on STOCK 2mm seals, I'm sure it's been dowel pinned tho, also, to build on the statements already made, it has a lot to do with how much fuel the motor is getting, the timming, basically everything that makes a motor work.
