Props where props are due

Just wanted to relay a dealer experience I had last week.

Needed intake & exhaust manifold gaskets from the dealer.

Called St. Catharines Mazda. The guy told me he would need a vin # and a credit card # to order, and it would take 3 days to get them in.

Hung up the phone, called Mountain Mazda in hamilton. Peter was very helpful, had them in the next day (it was 1:30 when I called) and since he lives in Niagara Falls, even offered to drive the stuff out to me next time I ordered. NOW THAT'S SERVICE!!!

SO: if at all possible, use Mountain. Next time I am there, I will see if we can set up a discount for "the club".

Big props to Mountain Mazda!
Rarely find dealers who would go to those lengths to help out a fellow enthusiast...

the service guys there are good...

I wouldn't however deal with the salesmen there...long story involving me (the body shop) getting a paint code - like pulling teeth out of an aligator - I thought I was going to have to buy the freakin car to get him to open up the door so I could see the code....

I second the sales guys there. I was there when my friend Carrie bought a MazdaSpeed Protege there. The sales guys were a bunch of clueless punks. They should at least have 1 guy there who knows the cars they're selling. It was pretty funny how suspicious they were of us with at least two guys hovering over the car and as soon as all three of us got out to talk about it, they jumped at the opportunity to quickly lock it so they didn't have to babysit us anymore. Carrie had to correct the salesman when he called the radiator the wrong name. She bought the car there because it was the only dealer around with a charcoal coloured Mazdaspeed. They definately didn't deserve the sale.

Parts guys are pretty good there. Little bit of a wait at the desk but they get me the right parts at least.

I have been using Mountain MAZDA for many years now, ever since i entered the 7 scene. I have always recieved a discount on parts there, so when Peter (parts manager) started working there (just about a year now) i asked him of the same. Peter agreed so the discount is already accepted from Mountain MAZDA, its 15%.

All you have to do is mention me, or just the 7 discount and he will honour it.

cheers

how do you go about getting a discount at a dealer?
over the summer i have been starting to buy quite a few parts from my local dealer, and the parts guy seems friendly enough to me. seems to remember me also each time i go there.

Feds: As I told you, I bought my Rx-8 from Mountain Mazda and I live in Oshawa. I dealt w/Peter from day one and had a great experience.

He even went as far a cutting out clippings on the rotary engine and looking for a limted edition watch for me. Also, when I bought my car they didn't have any on the floor at the time, but he keep my car down in the bsmt parking area away from the customers and there was only 5km on my car on pickup. So I would recommend them,
