Calgary junkyard update

Just got back from Pick 'n' Pull this afternoon (April 9th, 2005) after hacking off a rear wheel spindle and brake rotor to use for a hub on a roulette wheel that I got suckered into building for an aviation club I belong to.

While there I noticed the following not-yet-picked-over RX7's in the yard:

1985 base model (ignore the "GSL" badge on it--- it's a base, period) with all glass broken and engine and drive train components still intact.

1986 GXL that had been rolled. All engine/ drivetrain items still there (transmission is automatic), and nothing yet stripped from engine bay.

Thanks for the update aviator =D

I don't think I need any parts for the 7, minus perhaps a white S4 drivers side mirror, but I'm in no hurry to acquire such. Regardless, thx for the heads up on what's down at PnP these days.

I can't recall if it escaped the roll-over unscathed or not.

Mileage was around 187,000 km if I recall correctly, which explains why it hasn't yet been claimed by anybody. Besides, swapping odometers is dishonest and unethical. Shame on you.

The inside was so-so. Seats worn in usual places and roof partially caved in. Interior is red cloth.

I'm mostly in need of the odd interior part.
Things like speaker tower covers, carpet plugs and ties, etc.....

Well I saw this car yesterday, and someone with a black hat was picking around inside.
I did not take note of the fender, sorry.

No idea, but their price list for parts apply to all cars regardless of make and model. A front brake rotor for a 1st gen is around $10, as would be the front brake rotor for a Porsche 911 Turbo if such a car existed in their yard. I'm sure the price for strut tower covers would be far less than most auto wreckers would charge.

But their $1 admission is a joke, not so much over the $1 as the principle--- you pay it even if they don't have what you're looking for. Kinda like 7-11 charging a dollar for you to enter their store, only to find that the coffee you wanted to buy isn't available because they're cleaning the coffee machine--- and they don't give refunds. Too bad, so sad, you lose. Better luck next time.

I had exactly 81 tools with me, plus a flashlight and a digital camera, a pack of smokes and a beer.
I was hustlin to a hot pick before the other Daytona boys got there. I'll see ya at the next meet.
'Bastard'? That's it. You're written outta the will for the FD.
