Pikes Peak!

Was in Colorado Springs for the weekend so I just HAD to make the drive up Pikes Peak. As luck would have it, it was closed to the public on Saturday...for the famous HILLCLIMB!!! WOOHOO!!!

Went back on Sunday and it was a blast to drive up...my sphincter was puckered for much of the drive on the unpaved sections. Good times...

Thumbs up

If only I had known you were going. My friend Derek Ross lives very near there and he has been involved in motorsports for years and knows the Unsers personally. Who knows, it might have been cool.

Just FYI, Derek says he is puckered as well when he travels up the hill and he has done it a number of times.

I had a Jeep Liberty rental. 4LO was a very welcome setting.

Eric, I'm actually scared of heights too so my heart was in my throat and my knees were soft at the same time. Sooooooo fun.

I love that pic too...not bad from a point & shoot cam. Here's the original size if you want.

sweet. makes a good desktop background.
"point and shoot" cameras are really good these days. most times, a good P&S will take as good photo as a SLR because you might not know what you are doing, heh.

Awesome pictures. I would kill to be able to take my 7 up and down there. Plus I now have a new desktop background(2md pic) as well as vacation/roadtrip destination.
