Oil filter application for '91na
I'm finding that I get different oil filter application numbers depending on the source I look to for my '91na. Fram lists 6607 as the filter for 90-95 cars - but does an '89 S5 take a different filter than 90-91's? (and apparently they're unaware the FD was available later than 95 in Canada. Quaker State (really a Purolator - same for Valvoline) lists 3593 - same number as any 86-91, NA or turbo - and these brands all follow Fram's model numbers. Canuck Tire on the other hand lists 6607 regardless of brand - even tho' QS and Valvoline don't appear to offer it - just the 3593. I assume this is the correct one - but I hate to assume.
BTW, anyone know if the Valvoline High Mileage is actually different from the Quaker State version - and if so is it actually better? It seems to suggest more effective filtering media on the box - but this could also mean more restrictive.

omg, another oil filter thread!!anyways, to answer your question, no. in fact i believe that all FBs and FCs accept the same filter...even if there are different parts numbers, they should fit either generation and every year. not 100% sure though...
anyway, the 3593 will fit.
as for high mileage oil filters, i personally wouldn't use one...two reasons:
1) normal oil filters work fine
2) i'm not entirely sure what is described in the following statement is safe for our engines:

but i'm sure you won't notice any difference either way...
