i don't see why the jdm Fd's are knocked bad by other people. Any car you buy is buyer beware, so obviously if you are buying from japland it's even more of a caution that is needed. Just because someone has 10g's and is able to afford buying an FD from japan doesn't mean it's a good idea..because most likely they won't be able to afford repairs. Just like buying one from the states. What would be the difference of picking a car up from the states, you might not know what the previous owner has done to it, or how hard they beat on it. Really there is no difference other then the price. when getting one from japan though, you might get one with the engine on it's way out..or sometimes the inspectors from certain importing companies are douchebags and don't tell the buyer that the engine is pouched, however the same thing could happen with a US FD. Hence the buyer beware.

well what i personally think is that why people hate on jdm because they spend too much money to get their hands on one made in usa then if you get the same vehicle for 5-10k cheaper then they hate on you .... its just human nature and in this thread alot of people have pointed that theirm jdm didnt need new engine just some minor work. so dont hate just chill

I don't hate JDM's I love them they are bringing parts here that we otherwise wouldn't see. Also most people who buy them dont have the $$$ to maintain them so even better for me.

I am just saying as a fact that the JDM's I have seen are far from impressive.

I agree, lots of importance on WHO your importer is, and if they have good people to go through in Japan on not. I got an excellent FD this year but it took 5 months of bidding. Very happy with it, sure needs a little work for saftey but nothing but some lighting really.
