Interior Paint /Dye

Hey everyone,

Has any one had success in repainting or dying the rear speaker panels for an 85 GSL-SE? I am having problems find the right color (maroon) and the correct type of paint / dye.

Any suggestions?

Here you go. https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-archive-71/interior-had-do-another-tan-interior-going-painted-717766/

The paint he used is great stuff. Very durable, and has a good plastic feel to it. I have two cans for when I eventually get around to freshening up the interior. It's expensive, but you can get any OEM interior colour you want.

OP, for Maroon, they sell it at Crappy tire. I'll go find the can I purchased to get the part number for you. I did my interior and it worked out mint.

Did the paint match the original color? I don't want to do the whole interior, just the rear panels. If you have the part number, ps send it to me.

ok, it's Dupli-Color Auto Spray. Canadian Tire.
the numbers on the cap are
26916 00323 (bar code)
or
047-0071-0 (product no.)
or
DSFM201 Ford Medium Red

The photos dont do it justice as the flash brightens everything up.
My interior had gone really brown from old age and the sun. After painting all my
parts, the interior looks new.

All the panels are going to have some amount of fade to them, so once you touch up the rear panels your going to notice how much brighter the colour is compared to the front. It's more work but it will look better if you do all the panels.

You want to use SEM color coat 15063 (Burgundy). I used it on my rear panels (which had been faded to a whitish pink) and they came out looking brand new (you can even use this stuff on the rear carpet). The trick is to make sure the surface you're using is clean.
