that sucks. i have 2 good ways to look like you have one. take a old one take a stick or pole and ram it in intill its to the other side. or take a old one cut it open rip out the old insides and bolt it on the exhust like i a cover (thanks for my co-op for that idea)

I've been catless for over 4yrs. As long as the car isn't smoking like crazy, and you've got a decent tune, you'll be fine.
Unless of course you take your car out at night to the local "hang out" areas. In which case you're just asking for trouble.

Just don't draw attention to yourself. You really have to tick an officer the wrong way for him to jack up your car and look.
I'd love to run cats but having them cost me my first rebuild after one clogged and then 6 months later it clogging again (with no damage since I realized it thankfully) I can't take cats anymore, they just can't stand the heat.

FYI, there are newer high-performance metal substrate cats that flow almost as good as straight pipe and are extremely durable.
the traditional ceramic substrates would be prone to failure, and thus "clogging".
