Well that was a fun/exhausting weekend.

First I would like to thank Marco for coming down to our small part of the world and show us how its done. Secondly I would like to thank the dyno operator/owner, James at Raven Autosports in Halifax for allowing us to take up his weekend and pulling long nights back to back. James is a well respected local piston tuner and has a kick *** dyno setup, no street tuning needed with this one, he can simulate it all and

We finished up the first day at 3 am Saturday morning and finished yesterday's tuning at 1:30 am. Marco is a top notch guy, did not get discouraged or frustrated at any point even after 33+hrs of tuning in 2 days. It was nice to meet all of the out of town guys and I hope to see you all again at the racetrack down here.

I also would like to thank Redshft and Toysport for feeding us all yesterday and inviting Marco into your home and treating him like family. He now has experienced some good old East Coast hospitality.

On a sad note, my engine has a warped seal and 30 psi on all 3 faces in my rear housing. Oh well, look forward to ripping it open and get her back on the road. If all goes well the damage will be minimal. I'm curious what it will put down on a strong motor.

Thanks again to all who participated, and we should all get together again sometime for a BBQ and cruise in the near future.

Got to fix the second video, it runs into error. Good to see excellent turnout from NB FDs, even after a quick rebuild. Sorry I missed u guys during the tune.

Much thanks to Marco!! Great guy for sure. And learned some interesting little things.

Those pulled pork sandwiches were tasty!! Thank you very much!

Sad indeed. If you can't find anyone to help you with your engine rebuild... I can always run down on a weekend and help ya out.

I know that will, Andrew and myself would be up for a rx-7 meet greet BBQ for sure this summer! Let us know and we can set something up!!

Nice meeting you all as well. I was planning to hang out a lot more than the couple of appearances we made, but, we ended up being asked to foster one of those rescue dogs from Labrador that came in from FedEx on Saturday, so that threw the weekend for a loop.

Glad you enjoyed the sandwiches. Plenty more where those come from.

We usually have a couple of car work on sessions/BBQs at our house over the run of the summer. I might start posting them up here, rather than just sending them out to our little local group. If you guys want to make the trip down, you are more than welcome.

We (mostly Craig, who was there most of the day on Saturday) actually assembled the engine the first time around. We were tossing around the idea of an "engine party" in the next little bit.

Current list of projects to do over the next little while:

Assemble and install the race engine for my FC (NA Bridge Port) and do a refresh, install some race bits and do a nut/bolt to hopefully get her on track in July.

Tear down and re-assemble John's motor

Install mostly assembled engine into Jenn's Convertible (the sandwich provider)

Install built engine into our friend Mike's FC (should make decent numbers... ported, doweled, ceramic seals, BNR turbo)

... and to show we are equal opportunity install the suspension on my RX8.

Oh, and this weekend we are problem finishing parting out and scrapping Craig's FC parts car his parents are sick of him storing at their house.

We'll keep you all in the loop.

Just woke up from a knockout. It was nice meeting you all and thank you for all the hospitality. I was definitely surprised when I heard Slideways.FD got his car back together. But I'm glad everyone was able to get tuned.

Slideways.FD, after you get your turbo fixed. I can remote tune the car since the base tune is already there and you have a datalogit and wideband setup. The boost part of the map will probably change with a healthy turbo.

Probably the fast reacting IAT from wannaspeed.com. I have it along with Wade, helps with tuning and isn't prone to heat soak like the OEM one. Wade and I have his water/meth kits as well, good reviews all around and customer service is top notch.

You guys get the plug and play harness or just do the wiring yourself? Just wondering if i should order the harness too or just the sensor.

Plug and play is best. It also makes it slightly easier when you have to take the UIM off because it is longer.

Best run was 316 hp and 241 tq (a little less than what I was hoping for). A big thank you to Marco for his efforts on getting my car to the best it could be. I still have a bit of a miss to get corrected, but that may have to wait a while.

Thank you John for all your efforts in setting up and co-ordinating this - you put a lot of time into making it happen for us all.

I am up for bbq, meet of some kind, and depending upon the date would be willing to host at the beach on the north shore of NS. We are in Seafoam, Pictou County.

That's a mustang dyno too. So don't let the numbers fool or discourage you. Add 10-15% even been known up to 20%+ off. on top those numbers for correction. They are not accurate for whp and tq. If you want to know exact whp hit up a dynojet dyno. But mustang dyno are great for tuning! Along with a great tuner like Marco!!

As a comparison when I had bnr turbos on my first fd I got 310 on a mustang dyno. 17lbs of boost that would bleed off a bit. The internet guys would likely get 400 HP on a more generous dyno.

My current FD got 315HP with a 35r and 15lbs that dropped boost pretty quickly in the higher rpm range.

Changed the turbo and increased the boost to 20lbs and got 385HP - Internet guys would likely say this is 500HP.

The same dyno I witnessed a 3 rotor get 501HP @20lbs. The internet guys would claim this is 700-800HP

The moral of the story? If you want to see a higher number find a generous dyno. If you go to a mustang dyno expect to hear how there is something wrong with the car/tuner because they know a buddy who knows a buddy and he got more than you.

I kept going back to the same dyno as a reference point. When I changed something I wanted to measure the difference. Had I went to a different dyno it the new number wouldn't mean jack.
