anyways, i'm not quite sure what you are getting at with the road surface, do you mean the FD going over bumps and loosing road holding ability?
well opinion from an owner is as good as any. i think the general consensus is that the FD is a faster car in all respects...
now i just don't know why it has been said that an RX-8 would have a major advantage on the street?
if an FD can handidly out class an RX-8 on the track in stock trim, i don't see why it can't do that on the road.

The results from the Grand Am Cup Race at Mosport are in. The Speedsource RX8 (on Hoosiers), which I will assume is prepped to the max of the rules, managed to pull off a 1:33.932. This one was the main car as driven by Sylvain Trembley and is very well driven. This is fast for a naturally aspirated car, but about 4 seconds off a WC Touring class car from last year (a NA RSX on Toyo's) and only about 2 seconds faster than the Touring GT Track record for a touring class car, also on Toyos. Heck it is only about 4 seconds faster than my stock 6 port running 150lbs heavier.
My somewhat experienced opinion is that an FD at a similar state of prep would be at least 4 seconds a lap quicker, at least at Mosport. The RX8 is about the same speed as an FC Turbo II, at least in race form.

Hey, no excuses! You damn know me and Jay are better drivers than you!
