Some people did on the other post.
Today. 383.14rwhp 305.6tq
Last year 408.8rwhp 304.6tq
Nothing changed. Boost and setup is the same as last.
A/F ratio's were turned down in the cruising map.
Now time to get her to run cooler.

Thanks for the info, I was curious to see the results. I would suggest that the guys who had break up check the a/f mixture, that was our gremlin, and once we found it, we gained 13 rwhp, and ran clean to 10,200rpm

I got 98.8 on my second run, by turning up the fuel pressure to 5psi (from 4.5). My regulator sucks though, I've already ordered a new one with a gauge to keep good track of my a/f ratio in the upper rpm range. I still cant believe my peak power is at 5200 rpm. Damn regulator.

Guys, I wrote that list from memory so don't be offended if I was off by a couple of hp. And I only put names of those had previously posted them or I was sure that they would not be offended.
I think the 8 numbers were the most interesting. Even with the 10hp correction in 2004 I think Mazda still has some explaining to do. I was expecting the stock 8s to be in the 190s.
After talking my car for a run today I think I was actually at 6lbs of boost. I can't wait to resolve the breakup and then check the numbers again.

If the RX-8 is rated at 238 hp the correct deduction for accessories/driveline should be 20-25%. Wich would bring it in at around 178 - 190 hp depending. The day you guys ran with the high humidity would probably be another 5-8% off regular readings.

from what i recall it is very hard to dyno an RX-8, as are many sports cars these days.
i believe one magazine had to first disconnect the wheel/ABS sensors, or it would generate a limp mode of sorts.
timing is also aparently retarded if intake temps get hot, and under certain other conditions.
i think for the RX-8s it would be interesting to test a 0-60 run on actual road/track and then estimate HP based on weight, and compare that to the dyno...

From what I've seen ~180rwhp seems to be what the RX-8 dynos at. eg. http://www.rx7.com/rx7rx8comparo.html I don't buy the "RX-8's don't dyno well" arguement. They're not BMWs with air speed sensors. Coldfire's suggestion seems to be that if the ABS sensor doesn't read properly, the engine backs the power off ~10%. I could see that being the case, but why back it off only that little bit?
If we wanted to do the HP estimation thing, compare the 1/4 or 0-60 numbers by the car magazines for the RX-8 (~14.5), FD (~13.5-13.9) and TII (~14.5-15.2). All are around the same weight, but the RX-8 typically acheives somewhere between the turbo 7s, but closer to the TII. Thus one would probably expect the RX-8 to be dynoing where it is.
IMO the RX-8 is still overrated at 238hp, it's more like 220hp. A lot of people don't like it when I say that and will argue that the RX-8 has 25% drivetrain loss, but I don't buy that.

I own an Rx-8 and wouldn't argue w/you on the HP issue.
Only thing I would argue is that she is still good bang for the buck.
and that Mazda has leaned it out and given it more power to bring it closer to what they advertised (238hp) originally even though they still may be a bit shy of the mark due to emission standards and other factors. So they are trying

I just don't think Mazda came completely clean when they had the chance.
