DGRR2014 (Canadian's EH!)
Were meeting @ Peace Bridge Duty Free. This a revised map

I don't believe we'll be able to do the whole BRP from Roanoke, VA, USA just because the revised route will take Total: 592 km - about 10 hours 13 mins WOW. I guess we'll have play it by ear.
1 week are you ready! All local canucks heading to DGRR welcome to join in!

Derry, sounds good to me, Waynesboro is where we stopped one of the times we did this route. Peace Bridge DF parking lot 6-7:00 am, earlier the better. At border crossing @ 7 at the latest, be there or be square.
Wanted to thank my fellow Canadians who attended for a great weekend at DGRR ......cant say I like the drive to get there and back but the experience of driving the Dragon's tail was well worth it. Special thanks to Scottish#1 for showing my son and I around....Much appreciated.
Yes, a wonderful weekend. Sad to be back, driving home in the drizzling ran.
I love telling people I wore shorts and t-shirts all weekend. And hot tubbing at the end of the day.
Ian asked me if I will be returning again next year, and the answer is yes.
Sure, it is a long drive there and a long drive back.
But there are so many interesting roads and highways. Some I want to do again and some I still need to explore. To me, the Tail of the Dragon is just a taste of it. I've already planned out new routes for next year.
RXeckless, that cabin was a real find. Nice work. Thanks for organizing. Thank Chris for sharing space with us.
FYI, I kept my receipts and added them up:
Food - $85
Drinks - $85
Lodging - $160
Gasoline - $310
For those who went this year, did you have similar costs?
For those who plan to go next year, budget accordingly.

That's one thing I miss about my old na fc. It was actually good on fuel and it was cheap. Dirt slow, but cheap. I really want to go again next year. I need some time in a cabin in the mountains.

A big thanks to Rick for organizing this. It probably would have never have happened this year if Rick didn't lead the charge.
It was a great weekend hanging out with you guys.

Thanks, Everyone!
I just got home from the keys last evening with no malfunctions at all. Only exception was nailing a couple of retreads that are numerous on the highway down there. Left early because of high cost of everything and way more commercial than the last time.
Chris said the best part of the trip was the cabin time and wants to go back again as well. So maybe next year or just go down for no reason at all. After our journey thru many eastern states by far North Carolina, Tennessee are my favourites for the great people and roads! Miss it already!
As to gas averaged 260 to 320 miles to a tank which is not all that bad for a NA rotary.

Mine was a wee bit under $400. also for the weekend including my Canadian fill up......which I guess is pretty good with a jdm transmission and 1300 secondary's with twins.....looking forward to next year....cant believe I'm saying that already after 14hrs straight in a fd seat each way...Lol.
