Sorry 2fierce, I had a PM'd request for any openings a while ago from Charn (lawyer's spirit) so he'll be taking Terrh's place.

I ****STILL***** haven't heard about the dyno so I'm tossing other options around as far as alternative places (this session was to be held at my shop) equipped with dyno's, or other mobile dyno places simply because I doubt we'll able to road tune everything to its fullest, I know there's some very fast cars in this lineup.

So any suggestions (thanks already for yours Ian ) on that please post them up and find out what/where/how many/how much kind of stuff and we'll go from there.

Thanks for the paitence, and to the U2ne dyno's defence he's trying to figure out alot of things (such as his availability and how long he has to be here running the machine) and there's still alot of time, so certainly no hard feelings. I'm just entertaining other options at this point.

Any updates on an approximate date? My car came home today so she is essentially ready for tuning. Any chance we can make late April work?

If any spots open and my car is up and running (megasquirt here also), let me know ... I might be in and would like a dyno also. Can he not stay for an extra day if more people would like to? Also where about will he be doing the dyno if needed be done, yet alone the street. Does he come to your house?

I'm still alive, guys. Those that are interested -- shoot me some pictures of your engine bay along with details on your setup (engine setup, turbo, fuel system, etc) to my email -- bdc@bdcmotorsports.com

Nice.

Just heard about the dyno since there's alot of expressed interest in it at this point, also it means even with rain there will be tuning

But the total would be $600/day for use of the machine and we can also go over a weekend. The dyno would be at Mazdee's (correct, yes Ian??) so good news for some of you travelling from up north.

Going by BDC's estimate of 3 car's per day, perhaps 4 if they went smoothly, that brings the cost to around $150-$200 per person, ontop of your fee for Brian of course.

Im also thinking of moving the event nearer to the start of May. Perhaps the first or second weekend since the original planned weekend conflicts with a few events. I'm going to call Brian today and confirm the exact date (he had jury duty yesterday ) but if those weekends/days are a problem for anyone speak up soon.

Tomorrow I'll post the dates with a list of who/which day at what time. Thanks guys!!

OK - Sam, I know you're in likea dirty shirt. Im sure we can fit you by yourself on one of the 4 days already.

I've PM'd 2fierce (expressed interest a few months ago) and if he and granto are in - then you guys can together make enough cars for a 5th day.

Let me know soon!!

Yes the dyno is beside Mazdee's in Pickering. This is the right thing to do. Dyno instead of street. Who wants a min fine of 5K anyhow.

The dyno price is once in a life time pricing. Wicked deal.

I just wish I had my water injection installed

I'll still need to do atleast 20min per car of street stuff to make sure they drive alright. Afterall, the point of bringing me out is to tune these cars, right? Dynos will load the vehicle out differently. We don't have to go for land speed records on the highway; just something where we can drive the car around some.

Personally I would like both to get some figures out. What is the best wayt to do it dyno first, then street? or the other way around. I would imagine dyno first then street because you get what ever you can achieve maximum first then work your way down but that all depends on BDC he has a better foot in this.

So what would be the total price for BDC to tune it and the dyno then? I would have to make a trip to toronto but thats alright I can visit Dave at Mazdees again cause he built my engine. Plus that might help BDC to know where to set the timing properly has Dave should know how he sets his engines. I think he'll be surprised to see my car redone all over again and his engine being the center of attention.

B

Normal driving on the street should be tuned on the street but boost pulls on the dyno. Full boost pull on the street will put me to jail without a car.

I do agree with you that some street is needed,

This dyno is a mustang dyno and has some street simulation on it as well.
Ian

I hope there is a spot for me.

Brian,
Ontario has some of North America'a toughest speeding legislation. 50km over the limit = license suspension and 7 day vehicle impoundment with no right of appeal. There are on average 35 vehicles impounded everyday.

And this came to pass after the start of this thread. It sort of makes high speed street tuning a much riskier venture. Anything less than 50 over is not a real issue.

So even I wouldn't mind paying for a combination of Dyno and street time despite my car only probably having about 300 horsepower.

But I'll follow your suggestion.

Email sent, pics to follow.

Yes, Brian's right and I don't think he's planning on impounding anyone's vehicles under the lovely "street racing" law. But part throttle, tip in and a few other areas should probably be done on the street since thats where the car will run with the load it will see all the time.

The stuff that would get us pulled over will be done inside

Going by math of 3 cars/day you guys should have LOTS of time to run the car aorund outside for a bit, and come in and do your pulls all within your time period. There will be enough time for just under 3 hours per car each day. Now that being said there may be issues but you guys can do your best now to make sure there's no delays during "game day" by going over the car well.

Ian - there's a spot for you and dj55b......2fierce hasn't gotten back to me but if he doesn't or if he can't make it there'll be 1 spot left so far unless 3 other people step up between now and when the schedule is in the thread (today if I can get a hold of Brian after lunch)

As far as price goes - I'm going to presume a couple things here. One being only 3 car's per day to split the dyno cost, two being that the total dyno fee per day is before tax. (Ian? maybe you could just double check that please? Never thought to ask until now)

That would be $226CDN (paid to dyno) + $350US (paid to Brian D. Cain)

This is a smoking deal on a dyno guys, and Brian's fee is extremely reasonable considering the amount of time he'll spend on your car and the knowledge you might soak out of him

A list will come soon guys, real soon. Once its up - that list is *the final word* so please bear with me (which you've done a great job of so far )

Alright that's reasonably well priced. How many runs do we get on the Dyno?

However many you can fit into that time period. By splitting it 3 ways, in a strictly 8.5 hour day - you have a touch under three hours.

Schedule

Friday May 2/08

8am- Joe Phillips (classicauto)

11am- Jim K.

2pm- Darryl

Saturday May 3/08

8am- George K.

11am- Nismoconvert

2pm- Wankel FDrx7 (I know you're coming from Quebec, figure this time works best?)

Sunday May 4/08

8am- Jim's FD#1

11am- Jim's FD#2

2pm- Jim's FD#3

Monday May 5/08

8am- Dominic (7rocket)

11am- Andrew777 (you have PM)

2pm- Sam (dj55b)

Tuesday May 6/08

8am- IAN

11am- Lawyer's Spirit (Charn)

2pm- ???????

Only problem I might have is if one of Jim's mystery cars was actually Charn's FD. So please fill me in if that's off. The final spot may go to someone...not sure who. The list of interest was 2fierce, granto and granto has very respectfully stepped back while he sees if he can finish his car in time. So 2fierce will have the first crack, but its essentially open for pickin'.

As well, I went by some loose recommendations on who wanted a weekend etc. BUT - obviously if you absolutely can't make the slot I gave you because of work etc. Please post your conflict and your desired slot and we'll see if people can switch it up. No reason this can't all work smoothly.

Have a great day guys!

EDIT: FORGOT TO MENTION> I'm presuming 8am since thats when I open my shop up, but if its actually 9 that they open, everything will shift. I'll check with Ian about this.
