Am I the only old-skool 74 RX4 in Canada
Am I the only old-skool 74 RX4 in Canada
Hello,
Am I the only one with an RX4 in Canada (at least a 2 door coupe one.) When I went to make the appointment for the mechanical inspection (in Quebec) to be able to plate my 1974 RX4 I was told by the guy that in his computer it showed that they had not inspected one of these models for over ten years, after that he said the computer stops counting. I myself have not seen another anywhere in Canada.
Just wondering if I am alone here,
Max

I know, I know. Can't help it. My only problem is that no one I have found really wants to work on it. I seeing that parts is an issue too. While I need noen today I am sure the day will come.

Nice find. Glad to see I'm not the only one. I had not seen that thread or would have certainly posted there in place of starting my own. Will you be leaving the wagon stock. I think you should. Fix up that fender, do a respray, and clean up the interior. Sort out any mechanics but leave her stock and as unrestored as possible. Take before and after pics to document its original conditions.
BTW, will you sell? I'll have to buy her and hide her after you finish the work.
Post some pics of the rear with the hatch close, I think they look cool.
Take care of her.
Regards
Max

Or else

Hello "Who"
I will. Someone needs to PM me when one comes about in case I miss it. I have a 11 month old that consumes alot of my time aside from my business.
This RX4 has been hidden for too long and needs to get out.
Plus, I am hoping to create better awareness for vinatge Rotray Mazda's in Montreal, I think this baby will help. I feel it is now that these RX's will become noticed as Mazda has just recently reached its vintage maturity date in the US and Canada of being 30+ years old. Considering that and how much in the vintage car hobby is growing coupled with the rarity of a Rotary compared to a Piston engine, I am sure we will see the prices of these Rotary's start to go up. Good for those of us who has them but bad for those looking. Buy them now! There are still original owners out there but once they have changed hands it will be over. Then again what do I know, I'm no expert.

I have a /really/ rough RX-3 I'll sell for $500 OBO.
Automatic, no glass, rusted. Ran when parked (20 years ago). I haven't even got the hood open, so I don't know what it's like under there. Bent front bumper, most of the other chrome is OK though. Taillights are OK but the chrome is peeling. Been sitting since sometime in the early 80's I think.

MAX..you stated that No-one wants to Work on it..That is a GOOD thing..because you wouldn't want to have anyone work on thes cars IF they didn't know What the Heck they were doing..Besides,when you get a Rotary,it "creates a Bond" between Owner and Driver..you Soon get to know your car,and what is it like and How it "acts"..So,roll up your Sleeves, sit in front of the Computer,Logged into the Rx7club to gather More Info on the Workings of your Vehicle and Dammit!,get out and Drive the Car once in awhile!..welcome to Rotary madness.Hide your Wallet..it is known to "go light" Fairly Often....Cheers..STYX.
