550cc injector recommendations

I'm not looking for these myself, but a friend with a 260Z (280Z turbo engine swap, don't know what turbo, + Wolf standalone) is looking for a recommend on what would be a good 550cc, low impedance injector, with good control at low duty cycle (he wants a smooth, and fuel efficient cruise when it's not boosting). The current injectors are leaking, making it impossible to tune and hard starting.

I thought about putting the question in the 2nd gen forum, but it's doesn't really belong there, but I do know there's a lot of injector experience and expertise around here, even though 550's are small for boosted rotaries and a bit big for stock NA's.

Any pointers appreciated, thanks in advance.

Okay, I did find this http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2n...ctor_info.html, and 86-87 tii's were low impedance 550's - are these a good choice if a set in good condition can be found? Or would the age be likely to make them iffy?

I went to RC's when I swapped.I like them.,Decent price too..try to order from a Site that sells them,as RC sells them for more.about 10 bucks per injector more!..What the Heck!??
Look at Injector Dynamics( website) .they are a little more pricey but I have read a lot of good about them too.

Most of the aftermarket EFI companies make injectors in packages. For example, from Acell, you can get a 6 pack of 50 LBs injectors (about 520CC). That might be a way to go because they are brand new and the price is pretty good.

It may be hard getting the duty cycle down far enough on any 550CC injector (depending on fuel pressure) to make that 6 cylinder idle nicely. They are 3L, correct? That's not much cylinder per injector...

I know Seimens makes a 550cc low impedance injector but I can't find it.

Thanks all for the replies and suggestions.
Aaron: I kind of wonder about how well 550cc's can be tuned for low-load too, but I suppose that's why he was asking about good control at low cycle. It's the L28 (ET, I assume, I'm sure he mentioned it came from a 280ZX) engine, so 2.8L. Currently making ~280ish rwhp. He figures since the target with his next round of upgrades is 400ish, he might as well upgrade injectors now since he can't tune it properly with the leaking ones.

I've been noticing low imp. seem to be a bit hard to come by in my own searching... I'm inclined to think no point in gambling on 25 year-old injectors

Oh, I just remembered that DIYAutoTune sells a range of low impedance new Bosch injectors from 20 LB up to about 80 LB, including 55LB. They also have them slightly smaller in high-Z.

Wow, much better pricing there than I've seen elsewhere. Passed that along, thx.
