Don't worry guys. There's about 5 FB's down here in speedy creek, including a very nice 81 with a 2 piece widebody kit, and a turbo'd holly. I think he just joined the forum, but I'm not sure what name he used. There's also a kid with a blue one that he painted himself, and its got RB headers on it that are bout a million yrs old. And there's mine with a stripped Nikki and RB headers, with a fully custom exhaust, and a set of equis gauges. Mines hopefully getting some paint this year. I haven't met the other guys with 7's yet, but I know there out there. Oh ya, almost forgot, there's a kid out here that's workin on an FC with a seized motor, but I think he's dreamin. Anyway, hope that helps resurrect the sask boys and girls on here. See yall later

Hello, I'm from Regina to. Working on a TII swap in my 82 right now. Just started it up about a month ago and working on finishing and tweaking right now. Hopefully I will see you out this summer.

Does anyone know if there is a place in Canada that sells widebody kits for first gens?

hmmm, not sure mine will make the trip, its sittin out at the farm while I sort out a fuel delivery issue with it. I ended up with a short in the starter harness and this fuel problem last summer the day before race day, and I have been far too busy to get it all sorted out yet. lets see what we can pull off tho

Early may sounds good. Has anyone here mounted a TII motor in their FB? I am having some mounting issues with mine and wouldn't mind taking a look at how other people mounted theirs. My oil pan is hitting the center link at the moment so engine needs to move forward about 1/2".

Correct me if I'm wrong guys but the easiest way to get a 13b to fit in a first gen is to go shopping at racing beat. pick up an oil pan and the modified front motor mount.

check out this site for parts that might help http://racingbeat.com/FRmazda1.htm
Just select the the oil system category and find the 13b oil pan. there will be a link on the oil pans page for the motor mount

best part about em is they're both less than $100, so it should fit the average budget of someone tryin to do this swap. and then your center link shouldn't give you anymore problems...

You can use a GSL-SE front cover, oil pan, and crossmember and it bolts right in.

assuming you find them of course, but that is a totally perfect answer as well. I've never made the 13b swap so I never even thought of that. I just remembered racing beat had the parts

Okay thanks for the info guys. But yes I am already using the SE oil pan, front cover and the RB front engine mount. My options seem to be either mount the engine an inch higher so that it is above the center link or mod my cross member to allow me to mount the engine about 1/2" forward. Would anyone here in Regina have a SE crossmember I could buy from them? That may work as well.
