Terrh, we need to make a decision, do we rock a Skyline, An FC, or Both?

Splitting would not be an issue. But who pays. Its just that every event I go to people say they are going but end up not going for various reasons.

How do we go about splitting this.
Currently I am splitting a room with classicauto but I am sure he would not mind a cabin.

I am still awaiting a confirmation email as well.

I can't wait. Should be an awesome road trip. Just small detail to work out now like meeting up to cruise down and see if we can bump into people on the way down.

man, I'd take a week off work for sure, but I don't think littleman can.

I'd have /no/ problem cruising all over the whole eastern seaboard, it's all fantastic driving roads.

How about you classicauto?

I'm willing to go for the whole week but I'm not leaving mike having to drive back alone.

Hmm, I don't really have any obligations ever so that wouldn't be a problem. Just this summer I drove down to Florida (with the FD) and stayed there 2.5 months to visit my business partner which I'd never seen before. You taking people with you or is it a solo adventure cruise .

It's 1,400 km to the place from where I live in Toronto. Either way I could use the opportunity to go to Chicago and check up on my servers.

I'm up for some cruising afterwards for sure!!

I can take that following week off without issue......I missed my vacation time this year for reasons I won't get into, but I've got a couple weeks "banked" so a friday, saturday and following week is no problem for me.

So, reading this correctly theres a possibility of 5 people, yes? Ian, myself, Terrh & friend as well as thewird?

I've got my confirmation email now so I can start calling and asking about rooms, but for 4-5 people our options are pretty broad.

There's plenty of different cabin's etc that can sleep that number so if 5 is it then I'll post some links to a fwe that I think are good and we'll make up our minds.

As far as cruising afterwards goes I'm down for sure. No real plans persay, but what I've always dreamed of curising in the 7, is the bridges in the florida keys.................. But really it doesn't matter, some time away from the shop and behind the steering wheel is all I'm after.

Let me know if 5 is the total and I'll post up some links to cabins that can hold our group of Canucks

so yeah
I guess we should be looking at getting a 2 bedroom cottage or cabin?
from the looks of it they're probably the best choice.

Just so everyone knows, its 800 miles from London to Nantahala Village. Which is approximatly 1300 km... so about 13 hours, after stops and whatnot, since most states on the way are 70MPH. You can get away with 75, but in a group of 7's I wouldn't push too hard. Also one of the interstates, I-40, east of Knoxville, turns into a great twisty two lane road through some great mountains. Well it's mostly in NC but a bit in TN. My favourite part of trucking through that area actually. I'll hopefully be registered by the end of December, just waiting for work to pick back up again.

Missed your post. I was going solo since I didn't think there would be an interest in doing something like that afterwards but would be glad to have company. Just as long as people realize that its not a planned cruise afterwards. More of a wing it and just go wherever we feel like it at that day and stay anywhere we end up.

I just came back from South Carolina and North Carolina, drove straight home from my Uncles in Mooresville and took about 15 hours. If you guys want to visit some mad race supply shops let me know! I know some great bars, sights and roads in VA and MD too. You have to hit this one highway with two tunnels a kilometer long each, and the widest single-arch span bridge in the world in W.VA. I should just come. lol

I coming for sure!

I just gotta get the car ready

Maybe if we cruise afterwards we could nominate a few places to go using a map, a 6 pack and some darts .......................seriously

So right now there's 5 of us 100% in....I'm going to toss this out there as a loose thought, but if your minds (as in anyone viewing this thread and contemplating the trip) are not made up by say in or around christmas - then thats the deadline for picking a cabin?

I don't wanna exclude anyone thinking of going, but I imagine that if we wait too long, the choices of places to stay will dwindle. So if you're thinking about going I'd say try to sort out your situation sooner rather then later.

Whats everyone think of that?

I'd much rather reserve a cabin sooner than later.

I agree. If after the fact there is more people willing to go then hopefully something will be available for them.

I recommend everyone meets in Windsor at the Husky (exit 14) and then take off from there into Detroit and then straight down 75 to Knoxville.
