2008 DGRR Anybody thinking of going?

https://www.rx7club.com/deals-gap-rotary-rally-archive-262/dgrr-2008-registration-info-700316/

I was considering going. Taking a few days of work and taking a scenic drive back as well.

Anybody thinking of going?

I'm definetly considering it. I've wanted to go for years but either haven't had the car ready, or other stuff has come up. But I've still gotta see what happens to the fund level after the holidays....new house and stuff, never know when I'll need to spend haha.

But if everything goes according to plan, I'll be down.

Sounds good. problem is having enough time to book the stuff etc.

I still have not made up my mind if I am truly going yet or not. Would be nice. Figure a bit of time off would be needed.

I am considering going to sevenstock as well.

I am seriously considering it, I keep meaning to ask Sam (dj55b) if he wants to make the drive down with me, Its only a 11hour cruise, and thats in my truck, so it should be less since cars can go faster in most states than the big rigs. I think I'm going to register shortly, just have to ask another friend if hes still up for it.

Does the registration fee include the room or is that a seperate cost? I know it covers meals and the shirt. I'm just not sure about the room.

Just the meals and shirt and registration. (Gives you a discount for the hotel)

See the posted thread. (I will be booking soon)

Sure man, that would be wicked. I'm going to look into staying at Nahtaila (sp?) Village this weekend and we'll go from there. I'm not entirely sure where we'd stay if we didn't stay there.

I had thoughts of major cruising afterwards so maybe I'd tag along

I'll hit you up with some accomidation info sunday or monday.

that sounds like a plan for sure. I wanted to stay at nahtaila village too since that's were the rest of the group will be staying. I am still waiting for the confirmation number to book anyhow. Let me know whats going on and we can div up the costs.

Going tomorrow to look at gps systems. Maybe a nice item to have along.

think I could go in my skyline?

would you be crossing in windsor or niagra falls? (not that that would be a "deal breaker" anyways - just want to know.

anyways, I really doubt I'll be driving any sort of fast rotary next year - but I will certainly have something to drive... maybe my stock 10AE, or the GTR, or the turbovert, whatever...

3 ways on a hotel room possible? I don't want the floor and I sure as hell ain't sharing a bed :P

I think the rooms have two beds only. Will have to check. (Some bigger cabins have more beds)

As far as the GTR I noticed you asked the organizer already. Would be nice to cruise down along a GTR. I know nothing about those cars and would enjoy learning something about them.

every year I've wanted to go, but every year my car has either been not ready or I couldn't make it.

they have 3-bed and 4- bed houses for rent, want to split 4 ways on one of those, as I think a local rx-7 guy will be coming with me in his TII.

that would be awsome to have guys from canada come!! as far as bringing your skyline, the only issue i would see is crossing the boarder. here they are "illegal" unless you know the tricks like people around here do(me). but i only know about importing them, as far as driving down for a show and going back i dont think that would be a problem, but honestly dont know.

It may be illegal in the states to own a GTR, or just a right hand drive vehicle, however the vehicle is registered in another jurisdiction/country, so unless it is actually unsafe to drive, it does not need to conform to the Vehicle Code of whatever state it's in.

I haven't got the chance to cross the border in it yet - but I'm sure I will before then, and I can't see it being a problem.

I don't think border crossing with a plated car - RHD or not - would be a problem.

I have no problem curising with a Skyline - I've got the same sentiments as IAN on that. If they want you there (or worse comes to worse, we leave Godzilla at the hotel when we actually go on the DGRR cruise/meet) then for sure man!! More the merrier.

I'm still waiting on the confirmation number too and they won't tell me whats availale for rooms/cabins until I have it So a couple more days I guess.

But for sure, the more the merrier. That way the border gaurds might believe me when they ask where I'm going
