I didn't have much time left today to work on the car, but I TRIED to get those exhaust baffles out. Holy crap. Without a die grinder those things suck. I barely made any headway. If anyone has tips, I'd be thankful.
On an entirely unrelated note, I just watched Steve McQueen's "Le Mans"... That movie gave me shivers. If you have a couple hours to kill, here:
Probably the most beautiful racing movie ever. With the best quote ever:
"Racing; it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting."
Anyway, goodnight.

Update: today, almost all of my rebuild materials arrived However, seeing as how I didn't have my apex seals in, my friend and I cracked down on other necessary maintenance.
-spark plug wires
-fuel filter
-motor mount
-air filter
and
-DIFF MOUNT!!!
that last one took nearly 5 hours...We were kinda slow. Anyway, hopefully the apex seals come in soon.
I'm out.

Oh look, I got paint... Aaaaaaaand it's purple.
I have yet to really wire brush the rotor housings, but it'll look sharp.
As for the actual progress, the engine IS back together, but I cannot find the flywheel key piece, so I'm going to scour my garage some more and possibly order one from the dealership.

Glad to see it coming along rather well. If you absolutely need a Woodruff Key I may have one lying around, if you go to buy one at the dealership you now know what it's correct name is. I warn you though, they no longer carry or order rough;y half the parts for the FC's.
AND THE ABSOLUTE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE ROTARY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make damn sure you have correct endplay, I'm not joking about how muthafreagin important endplay is when you reassemble the engine. If it is not within spec, do NOT crank that engine over, I've made this mistake, learn from it and learn well. Or do it the hard way and learn for yourself, aka the expensive way.
As always, have questions------ Ask
