That's good advice for the ignition switch wires. I should be able to work with that. I appreciate it!

You may. Good thing my GF doesnt post on gonewild!

Got part of the alarm system installed this weekend. I spent too much timing rewiring my center cluster. I have my gauges power attached their, the radio, and now the alarm. There are way too many wires in there and its really bothering me.

Onto the install! I was pleasantly suprised to find factory solenoid bolt holes on both doors. I think I spent more time trying to fish the wires through the doors than I did mounting the solenoids.

Mounted the DEI 524n actuator like so...

Used some locking nuts from a parts car. These things are really handy.

That's all for now. The door panels were put back on. I still have to figure out how to wire up the actuators to the alarm system.

Here is a little suprise..

Thanks. I'm still working on getting everything squared away. I need to find a convenient place to hook up the door sensor wire. Since mine is a S4 base with no alarm system, are the wires run to an unplugged harness I can find somewhere?

This weekend was a good time. We met up with some RX8club members at the Wilmington riverfront. Lunch was iron hill brewery with some great food and then we headed to Mid Atlantic Grand Prix for some super fun go karts!

I'm not sure where the wire ends up at, but I tapped into the drives side door sensor wire right behind the sensor. Pull the kick panel up and pick up the carpet to find the harness. The sensor grounds itself when the door opens. You could hook up the sensor wire to both door sensors for added security. The same thing with the hatch sensor if you were really ambitious :-)

I'm sure if you did some research you could find out where those wires went towards the front of the car and just tap that one source. I have no clue, though.

Well car is off the road again. Did a 3-4 gear pull against a mustang and the transmission had enough. Half way through third gear it quickly redlined so I stopped and put it in 5th. 5th had nothing...so I went to 4th, so I drove it back to our meeting spot in 4th. I then tried to get going when we left and quickly found out 1st 2nd and 3rd no longer existed anymore! I was lucky enough to make it all the way home in 4th without an issue or burning up the clutch - I didnt have to stop once

So I'm assuming I did what Aaron cake did many years ago: stripped the input shaft and cluster shaft gear. This would explain why 4th still worked. It is 1:1 and doesnt require the cluster shaft. (Picture from aaron cakes transmission)

So time to acquire a turbo drivetrain! I need a driveshaft and a starter. Thanks to our hoarding friend Landon, I have acquired axles and diff stub shafts. I picked up a transmission today, and have a lead on a flywheel/clutch.

Next week I should be receiving my projector headlights (finally). I have the full function engineering hall trigger kit to install, a mustang TPS to replace the s4 TPS. I also have to get this extra set of calipers powdercoated and put on with the new hawks pads I picked up from beefhole.

So much work. Such little good weather. sigh

Those NA transmissions are made of freakin' glass. I'm surprised to see you've made it so far! And I definitely wouldn't doubt it if you stripped the teeth off the input shaft gear. I've been worrying about my NA differential, but no problems yet. I have a T2 diff, but I need time to rebuild it (properly) and some halfshafts.

You'll definitely love the T2 trans. To me, it feels like it shifts better, and it can handle a load of torque.

We got a house! They accepted our offer and we have the inspections done. Settlement is May 30th. Dont expect to see any major changes after that date....I wont have any money left to do modifications.

Got a replacement trans in the car. Big thanks to Landon for sending me a s5 crossmember. The plan is to pull the N/A drivetrain this winter and get the turbo stuff in. I have acquired a clutch, flywheel, trans, diff and axles which leaves a start and driveshaft. To go with that I have a nice TO4E turbo to go in...eventually.

quick shot of the house

I am super excited about the garage. If I can find a decent N/A I want to gut it, cage it, and build a bridgeported track car.

Oh and my goal sometime this summer is to have a RX7 BBQ. I want to get a picture of the garage and driveway filled with RX7s

Try and keep it in one piece

I put level zero motorsports trans mounts in the car. holy hell did it make a difference. the old bushings must have been sagging something fierce.

Well looks like the spare trans I put in the car was a bust. I put it in the car, pulled the drain plug and saw chunks of bearing. I didnt think much of the large amount of backlash it had when I spun the input shaft. The car drives fine up until about 50 MPH and then it develops a really bad shake after that. I'm going to take my extra extra trans to a local shop and have them look at it to see if he can figure out why it wont go into 5th or reverse and then put that in the car.

Big thank you to Ben @ Rotary Extreme for letting me know what shocks he uses in his kits. He is not currently producing kits so I went ahead and modeled this one off of his.

it was T2 swapped, but the engine/trans are being taken out. Getting S5 T2 wheels with it as well as the T2 hood...Wifey wants to paint it either montego blue, or techno violet.

Yeah the techno violet is one of those colors that looks black until the light hits it just right.

So I picked up some parts last night for the red car...By the time I sell the parts I dont need, i'll have gotten the 13BT and accessories for free.

I paid $500 for the lot. got a 13BT, 12A, GSLSE front cover, 2 engine stands, rx8 trans + driveshaft, T2 trans, t2 clutch flywheel, 13BT intake mani + turbo, S4 NA open diff, as well as a rebuild video and rx7 magazines. I already sold an engine stand and the GSLSE front cover for $100 so thats $400 to go...

We settled on the house yesterday, finally! Now to move my hoard of parts to the garage and get the car out of the sun. I dont think I can pick up the red car this weekend. It'll have to wait until next weekend.
