My very own dutch zenki FC.
picture warning!
I was, thinking: time for a project thread on here. I probably wont be such a big project as some other have here, but i'll try my best. I'm just 19 years old, university student. So all i have are the study-funds i get from the government and a lazy weekend-job. And then this isn't a cheap car to drive. The taxation is high because it is 1200 kg=2662 lbs, the insurance is high, because it is a car with 110 kw and 19 y/o drivers here are considered to be ' High risk drivers', so i need to pay even more. And then there is the fuel consumption, at 1.90 euro a litre = 9.28/ a gallon if my maths are right, it's a shame.
I bought the car 10-12-2011 (that's december) with 132400 km. (that's 82269 miles for our imperial neighbours). Only the sad thing was, i didnt have a drivers license. failed it two times by then. i eventually got mine january the 6th (doesnt mean i didn't drove it yet )
it looked like this, lock and stock

-
and the only mod: front strut bar
and interior:
Among the first thing i did was ficing some electrical problems with the antenna and the power-windows.
one of the first things i bought was a zenki lip from a 200sx (240sx). With all the swap and aftermarket bumpers, these things are lleft over, so i could pick one up cheap:
Too lazy to paint yet, and way too cold.
Used some headlight restoring kit on my FTP's, they came out pretty well!
Skip a couple of months after snow and no driving:
And i could go painting! I painted the mirror cassings, the windowstrips on the door and the 200sx front lip.

And then finally, my first big expense! A set of HSD coilovers
-
Lowered!
-
Fixed the drivers side doorhandle with a tie-rap, since something brake and it kept sliding of. (if you look good, it was already repaired sometime before with a method mentioned somewhere on this forum)
I bought some European kouki-tails.
Bended the platework and sprayed it with some coating.
-
mounted:
Painted all the moldings, since they became really grey-ish, and my rear-spoiler, since it had some kind of 'blisters', with plasti-dip. I would advise this to eveyone.
-
In the meantime, i was also featured in a local car-magazine. Together with my brother who has and 1st gen crx 1.6

Then the biggest update of them all: Rims!
I went for this genuine set of super advan racing v1 in 17'. 8j front with et 35 and dunlop's 215/45, 9j rear with et 38 and bridgestone re050's 255/45.
The guy bought them in Japan and had them shipped to the Netherlands, only to find out he didnt like them. Picked them up for dirt cheap (there is no market in these rims here) on the other side of the country.
I also needed to buy new wheel nuts, since the stock ones didnt fit in the advan's holes.
-
I painted the brake callipers with a heat resistant paint from a can, and painted the discs with Hammerite and a paintbrush for that clean look.
And this is how i was rocking last week on " Dumpd" in the Netherlands, Really great car-festival, also featured on speedhunters and here: Wangan Warriors « a life style
After this i bought some 5mm spacers, since i was hitting the inside of the wheelarches and the plates over the exhaust. Plus my rear tires would come out more for a better fitment.
in the front i set more camber, because even without the spacer i was hitting that little edge on the inside of the fender. Only in situation of unto a driveaway or such, or speedbumps..
i will keep track of my progress on this car on this forum aswell, so will be continued.
Future plans are:
Miata torsen diff
Furb is taking his fc apart, and maybe get some parts from that
some engine tuning hopefully?
ah well, ideas enough

Looks good leander, some real inspiration.
I love those advans they look fantastic on your car, your right with the rear wheels could do with pushing them out closer to the guard.
