16's under vacuum isn't bad, but if it's close to 0, that's a bit odd. Is the engine happy though? Mine bucked and sputtered when it hit that high, but I tuned it out. You could try increasing the split and/or reducing leading timing in the cruise RPM's, but... adding fuel should work.

Its just before 0, maybe even 2 inhg. My timing is already more conservative than the arghx 9.4 compression timing maps, so I think I'll avoid retarding it any further. It runs great like it is, I just don't want any chance of blowing it up.. too many motor swaps in this car lol.

I should have mentioned do the timing as a last resort, I wouldn't want to mess with a good map either.
I'm not sure how the rtek works; does it stage fuel there? Huge secondaries can cause a lean spike when they open up because the pressure drops for a split second. It's more annoying than anything. Just keep adding fuel if you're worried.

No this has been more in the 1.5k-2.5k rpm range and my injectors are set to stage at ~3500 rpms, so its not that. From what I gathered from speaking with a friend with a modified supra, it's just something the ecu does when in cruising and there is really no getting around it with a stock/modified ecu. He also said the same thing about those being good cruising afrs. So until someone has otherwise to say i'll just keep driving it as is!

Forgot to mention, this is mind blowing! I have been seeing 18+ combined mpg! With a little trimming of my fuel map and nice driving I'm hoping to see in the 20's.. we'll see!

I hear that. Mine around town cruising RPM's (3 to 2.5k) would lean out, especially in 3rd gear. I had to add fuel to that range only, so my map looks a bit weird! But I guess that's just my engine and computer being derpy.

What are other people with similar setups seeing for fuel economy?

Got my Project Godspeed Radaiator installed today! Quality is great and it really finished up dressing up my engine bay ditching the stock one.

On a Negative note, I was jumping the car as the battery was low the other day and upon pulling them off, touched them while still attached and would seem to have fried my 3rd gen alternator as well as causing some wiring under the dash to smoke while the car is running.. looks like i have some more work to do as always....

Back from the dead update on the car!
The car has been out of commission since shortly after my last post. I ended up having a short that fried the wiring in the car from center console to firewall and beyond. I attempted to patch it but was unsuccessful. I have been going to school and working full-time so it has sat.
I did buy, build, and sell an FD over that time, but I missed this car more!

So being on spring break this week I decided to tackle the project!
I pulled every last bit of wiring out of the car minus the transmission/changing harness. Also removed my nitrous kit while I was at it, I can just turn up the boost if I need more power.
Next i sourced new dash, engine, rear chassis, front chassis harnesses and ran them through the car. I decided having AC would be nice, so I added those components while everything was apart.

Today I plan to finish rewiring my extras(gauges, e-fan, wideband)

Next day soon should be able to toss the interior back together and hopefully have a running driving car!

I decided to test the wiring before putting the interior together and I'm glad I did, something is not right. Most plugs in the harness don't leave a chance to mess up and I looked everything over, didn't notice anything obviously out of place.

As it sits now, the cars getting power, I get one normal beep when I turn the key on followed by a few muffles attempts. The fuel pump doesn't prime, car wont attempt to start, the blower door constantly cycles through positions with the logicon off, the fuel level guage pins past full, the tach pulses when the key cycles to the start position even though the starter isn't turning. Seems like something is way out of place.

I noticed some very minor differences in the front chassis harness (just door harness connectors) but it seemed overall the same. I pulled the chassis harness out of an 86/87 sport is there a difference in harnesses between that and what would have been in an 88 base?

I'm going to try replacing the charging harness to see if that helps but the problem seems deeper than that

I'm going to give it a full second look over and double check all my connectors/grounds per the fsm after I get the new charging harness in.

Got the car up and running! I ended up missing a the dash ground(due to not having the actual dashboard in) and having a very stealthy break in the wire to the main relay within my new front chassis harness.

I still have a bit more work to do before she's back on the road, mostly tidying up little things.

Also over the past couple years the mice really enjoyed pissing on my 10ae front carpet and no matter how much a clean it, it still kind of smells. SO, I bought a brand new Essex premolded front carpet. I'll post pics and review it for anyone else considering replacing theirs.

I'm incredibly busy so progress has been slow. I got my new carpet in and trimmed up, over all I'm pretty happy with the quality so far. The shape wasn't perfect but pretty close, it's also near the same weight as the stock carpet, if not heavier. The brand new carpet does look nice though!

The car is running great, I tossed a wheel in it and drove around our property. Put a big smile on my face.

For some reason the MAF isn't turning on the fuel pump during startup. A quick push on the door does the trick though. I'm just going to wire the pump to switched power like I have it before anyways.

The harness I put in the car didn't have provisions for power windows. So I cut the necessary section of harness out of my old harness, wired it into the fuse panel there the sunroof fuse is since my car is a hardtop it obviously wasn't. Now they work and are fused just like factory!

I'm hoping to put the interior back together next weekend and get her back on the road!

Well the interior is mostly back together, probably one solid weekend left of work until it's ready to hit the road.

However, I picked up a beautiful 89 gtu tonight thats going to be my new DD and needs a little maintenance. So it's going to delay progress a little bit further.

She needs some work, but will make a great daily.
