CO 89 Turbo II Drift Build

Thought I should start a build thread here and maybe you guys can help answer some of my questions. I picked up a 89 Turbo II from an importer in Houston (J Cars Import). I will be tuning it for drifting. Here is how I got it.

I added a oem front lip, RE Type II wing, Ganador mirrors, 17x9+18 Yokohama AVS VS6's, lowered it some, and put my Nardi in.

Had my gauges redone and changed the exhaust to a no name piece I found on yahoo auctions japan. Most of it is 3.5". Turbo back.

OS Giken 1.5 way installed and Super Now tie rod ends with rack spacers. Then took it to the track to test it for the first time. Getting used to the rhd is challenging but fun. Car did better than I expected.

Here's a video

The car started having some hesitation issues toward the end of the drift day. Power started cutting out, only while drifting though. Here's some video of that.

Also there is some noise from the diff that I am looking into. Feel free to chime in on what you think either of these things may be.

I am getting ready to send my turbo into BNR for a stage 1 upgrade. I need to get a set of 720cc injectors. What is a good buy for those? Not trying to break the bank but want ones that will perform well over time. The goal is to make around 300whp.

I'm going to recommend that you check your fuel pump strainer. They become clogged, and under sustained cornering the fuel in the tank leans to one side, the pump sucks up what's inside the strainer, but what fuel remaining in the baffle box isn't coming through the mesh fast enough. At least that is how I've always imagined it... It's a 15 dollar part, so...

The baffling in the tank itself may have also corroded.

I feel as if the drifting about has caused grit and debris etc to work it's way towards (and into) the fuel strainer.

You may also want to clean out the fuel tank itself. You might be tempted to utilize the cute little drain bolt on the underside of the fuel tank --- do not. It's not hard to drop the tank, and you'll be able to do a better job.
