Well, here's a little update... weather has stopped me from doing a lot.. it was cold as hell the last couple days... but I'm finally able to get some stuff done this weekend. I SHOULD have more pics by the end of the weekend.. cross you fingers for me.
But, since I couldn't do much outside in the booth, I did a little in the nice heated garage.
I followed THIS thread to paint my fogs... I put on a layer too much though and they came out orange-ish. The light that comes out is very yellow though, so I'm going to leave it for now.. I might sand it off and repaint with a lighter coat if I don't like it.

How exactly did you paint these? The link has disappeared and i would like to know how to do it too.
Thanks!

Nope, not because of the car... Lets just say she needs a big red A stamped on her forehead. And maybe a big boot jammed sideways in her ***.
I'm in good spirits... and as it turns out.. the ladies love me... haha. So, the weather at the moment is the only thing gating my work on the 7.
And NO i'm not going turbo. And to all of you people who say that you can have a turbo as reliable as a NA.... I say nay. an extra point of failure is an extra point of failure. statistically, less reliable. A well tuned turbo will still statistically be less reliable than a well tuned NA. I don't drive rotaries and 7's because of the power... I drive it because of the unique engine, the smooth power, the handling and the overall beauty of the car. I'm not a racer.. don't pretend to be.
Okay. done venting. haha.

Don't worry about it folks.... I'm not sensitive about it. It doesn't suck.. its not a terrible thing. Honestly, its one of the best things thats happened in my life in the past decade... (how sad is that).

I personally would have prepped and painted the inner chassis and all the nooks that get missed, underhood, door jambs, ect.. THEN installed the doors and fenders. Masked the chassis, and then painted/blended the doors and fenders.
But that's just me. Looks great. And you are right, orange peel IS unavoidable, the paint just does that, all it will take is a good wet sand (colorsand) and buff.. Especially with the amount of clear you put on.

Under new ownership!
....So, his exwife didn't take it, but....
I did. [back around the second week of May.. Because he didn't want to take it to Hawaii with him :P]
I've finally started making progress on it [Yea, should've started right when I got it, but I got laid off two weeks later ~_~]
Picts attached!
I need some help though.. I'm still lacking his disassembly pictures so I'm looking for some pictures of an S5 interior with no plastic trim or carpets on it. I need pretty much everything.. where various bolts/nuts go, where random little metal plates go, etc.. [I do have a friend an hour away that has a car we can strip down but I thought I'd ask first ^_^" ]
Also... My plans are slightly off from Micah's: I'm planning on a full T2 conversion. I've already got: an engine/manifolds/flywheel/TMIC, hood, Diff/halfshafts, T2 swaybars, RB downpipe, RB REVTII catback, Koyo rad., [I think] a fuel pump, and a Knight Sports ECU.
My only worry so far with the T2 plan is that I don't know if it will be safe to use a Knight Sports ECU with stock ports/stock IC/stock injectors. Any comments on this?
Thanks! Wish me luck!
