Well, here's a little update (without pictures... didn't upload):
*Friday.. prepped the chassis for paint.. masked off.
*Saturday.. Primered the entire thing with a thick layer of primer.
*Sunday.. Sanded all of the primer off.
Yeah.... you read sunday correctly. I must have sprayed the primer too thick, because the solvents didn't evaporate correctly and the paint didn't adhere to the chassis correctly (or something)... Came off with water pressure.... very sucky. So I was forced to sand it ALL off..... about 25 bucks of primer wasted.
Tonight I should be finishing up removing the primer and should be ready to re-spray on wednesday. Its been really cold lately, but I'll manage. As long as I do a bunch of really light coats allowing for flash time..
I have pics of the chassis primered, but I don't think they count since I had to sand them off. I'll take more when it counts. Hoping to have the chassis FINISHED this coming weekend.
On a side note. Does anybody have any ideas for making new holes for the badges? How would I go about lining them up?

Hey Mic, great job on the car so far.. I had a 88 gxl for awhile that had a lot of body rot a few years ago, and i only got to the primer stage before i ended up having to sell it. Yours looks great. Right now My buddy and myself are putting together a rebuild on a 10AE. I need to do some body work on it as well, and i want to keep the car white. Anyone know what kind of paint i should use for it?

Wow. Great pic. However, no.. no attack of the flying monkeys... nothing like that. I AM having weather issues... its slowing me down significantly. We had freezing rain last night... GREAT. I'm looking into booth heating solutions so I can continue.. I also had some primer adhesion issues which I will cover later in my ammended review of the HOK DTM primer/surfacer product.
Thanks for staying up to date though... but, sadly... I might have to <pause> this thread for a week or two further.
