Mac's FC "Build" Thread

Figured it was about time I make a thread, always getting a bunch of pms for my car(which is cool) I just forget to respond to some haha. Hopefully this will help people who may have questions. The first couple pics may just be more of a picture thread since I didn't take any pics of the process of building and installing parts. This is just to get you guys caught up to where I am now lol.
Here we go anyway:

Get tired of the look? Cause I sure did haha. Finally got the chance to switch things up, so that's exactly what I did.

Front Bumper:
-Shine Half Front Bumper
-S4 Bumper cut to fit the new vents
As you can see there was quite alot of cutting needed...

Your car is pure sex man. Mine is/was (down for t2 swap now) somewhat similar with crown Vic's. IMO the te37 type wheels are the best you've had. I plan on getting them. Props on hahaving a clean and straight body with nice paint. Mine needs a lot or work. Lol

I disagree, I really like them (though I also think a diffuser would look awesome as well )

Mac, you have anymore pics of the car with only the mud guards (no skirts) how much lower do the guards sit than the rest of the car?

Your car looked best stock, you ruined it, =P

kidding! Love it. Great job on doing something not many have done before and trying new things.

How many soda can shims did you put in the lsd? and how much more lock is there?its not full lock is it? im planing to do that to my TII lsd for more aggressive lock but not solid lock.

Oops, forgot to mention the exhaust. I actually have no idea what the muffler is. I told my buddy that I needed a muffler and he had that sitting in his backyard and just gave it to me. He said he got it from his local muffler shop and told me it was a re amemiya replica?
This is the same one:

I'm debating on GP Sports rear bumper, Shine Half Bumper, or a diffuser. Something is definitely going to be done to the rear still. The shot before the final results shows the mudguards before I put on skirts. It did sit a little bit lower, but you can sit it higher if need be.

Haha thanks! I used 5 shims total(should've used 6 becuase I want harder lock). Before my diff was loose and I could turn it oppossite directions with my hands. After shimming it shot up to 85-90ft/lb breakaway. I also flipped the clutch plates so that there are fresh pads on contact.

What product did you use to paint the skirts and front half bumper?

If you sell the G35 mud guards, I'll buy them off you!

Lookin good! Almost makes me wish I hadn't spent all my $ on go-fast ****. But one day....

I'd love to see a detailed writeup on the lsd shims, I've got a 100k unit that could use some freshening up. 85-90ft/lbs eh? Was that after it settled or right after install? From what I've read that is pretty ideal value (settled) for a miata (which is much lighter). Perhaps that last can would have been the ticket

Base coat with Pumpkin Orange:

Then a solid coat of Banner Red:

And then clear coated with whatever clear coat paint I have laying around. I went through alot of trial and error to match the color with rattle cans.

It was 85-90ft/lb after it settled. I'm really considering pulling the diff out again to stack some more shims in. I get alot of understeer and that might be comming from the diff slipping too much. When I pull it apart again I'll definitely do a write up with pics.

Wow, what a champ. Mixing two extreme color spray cans like that? I'm impressed. I assumed you did it with several touch up paint spray cans for your original paint code, but that wouldn't explain color matching 25 year old paint.
