Now, don't neglect to route the suction for the BAC to somewhere in FRONT of the turbo, but BEHIND the AFM. Very important. Also, pineapple has good prices on exhaust gaskets. The graphite ones worked well for me so far. Just make sure to use a washer and lockwasher so things won't have a tendency to back off.

Also, a vacuum leak would usually mean the car idles really high, uncontrollably. Not poorly at low RPM. Shoot some brake cleaner around the intake snorkel and manifold, but I'd assume that something else is wrong, like the timing (which you can't check unless the idle is right) or the TPS is misadjusted (probably). What condition are the spark plugs and wires in? That's the kind of stuff that can make a shitty idle.

BTW, good location for the AFC and turbo timer, but I'd have put the wideband somewhere a bit more visible.
Lol yeah, I should have just listened and bought the BAC when I had the money. Might have to wait a week or 2 for it. I know for a fact that right now the TPS is out of adjustment because I messed with the throttle stop screw. The spark plugs and wires were replaced around 6 months ago, and still look fine. Thanks for the tips though, I'll try them out. Oh and the wideband is only there temporarily, I'm hoping to pick up, or make, one of those gauge pods that goes in the idiot light area.

Been a long while since I posted here, haven't really had money to do much. haha.

I got the metal turbo->manifold gasket. The graphite gasket was completely trashed, I actually found a piece of it sitting on the engine mount when I went to change it out. It runs and feels great at 6psi. The car also now idles, I ended up switching to the T2 throttle body I had sitting around. It idles at a shaky 1200rpm... but I suppose it's better than nothing! I also found the IAT sensor and tapped it into my homemade throttle body elbow.

On my list to do currently:
1) install vacuum manifold (bought one off ebay and modified it not to suck ***)
2) make some sort of throttle cable mount (zipties currently do the job)

Still haven't bought a T2 bac, but I have to hold off before I can afford more parts for the car. Once it's solid, there will be more exterior/suspension mods to come!

Here's the vacuum manifold I bought. I don't know what I was thinking, it looked like complete trash when I got it. Also had some stupid ebay brand logo etched into it.

I took it and cut it down, cut the mounting tabs off of it because I didn't like how they were facing, filled in the logo on it, sanded it down and repainted it flat black. I'll have to put my own mounting tabs on it, but here's the result.
