Here are the FTPs now with 4 LED Spotlights.

Nothing is glued in place yet. I have another idea for the LED strip I want to try out that will probably end up being my final solution. But I have to wait till my car is back together to give it a try. What I want to do is get a couple of these million color thin LED strips. http://www.oznium.com/thin-led-strip
The idea is to have a controller setup so that the strip is a normal white daytime running lights activated by a switch, but as soon as the turn signals are engaged they switch to blinking yellow\amber. The LEDs would activate for turns even when the daytime running light switch is off as well. Obviously theres a lot more involved in that setup than what is now but eventually I'll get to this and finish it once the car is running and I can mess with the stock wiring.

On another note, I did not receive a call from the upholstery shop today... Not a terrible thing I guess as I had forgotten my checkbook and camera at home. I'm hoping they call me to pick it up tomorrow. I'm going to vote early in the morning before work so I can arrange the pickup of the car for after work if it is done tomorrow.

Hot glue will probably be used to hold the final product in place or something similar. I have a couple more ideas in the mix as I mentioned in our last PM.
Yeah in the first pic before you posted the url it could not be told that they were strips, though you had done the old fashioned way, obv this is better only downside is if a part of the strip fails but easier to replace the whole strip than de-soldering/soldering in a new single burnt out led etc.

and per our last pm conversation DO IT DO IT DO IT!!! hehehehe.

and by all means steal his ideas away, beleive it or not he makes some of this stuff look REALLLY easy in the pictures and its simply not that easy all the time, so take your time, pulling ftps apart, drilling them without cracking them etc plenty of hazards to get around.

I don't know why, but I really want those! Will you make any extras to sell? If so, how much?

Its REALLLY not that hard. Just time consuming. The mirrors for example, they were a bitch because there was alot more work involved than just drilling holes in the shell. The LEDs wouldn't be flush(or close to it) if I had just drilled holes. The plastic shell is maybe like 5mm thick or so and the tips of the suplerflux LEDs rise up about 2-3mm from the rest of the LED. So the plastic on the inside of the shell had to be shaved down a few mm to bring the LED tips to the outer surface. That was pretty time consuming dremel work, not to mention a bit messy.

I didn't even bother trying to take the FTPs apart. Well ok, I did for about 2 minutes before I realized it would just be easier to cut out the rear section.

If you provide the FTPs(in good condition), sure. PM me if you are serious, we can work out the details.

Not too far off.

Dude. $50 won't even be enough to pay for the LEDs for one side. All the lights required for both sides add up to ~$155 shipped to my door, then there is the time involved actually putting them in the FTPs and wiring them up.

I did not receive a call on Tuesday so I called them at the end of the day and was told to call back early the next day since the guy handling my car was gone for the day. But I was told that the seats are taking longer than expected but they had made good progress. So I stopped by there after mid day yesterday to see how things were going.

The driver side seat rail also needed to be narrowed because it was having the same issues the passenger rail did once the seat was bolted down... I'm pretty disappointed in Cobra about this. Their vehicle specific rails should never need to be modified to work properly for the car it was made for...

They said it should be done today and they were supposed to call me today around noon so I could schedule pickup near the end of the day. But its now 3:30pm and they haven't called yet. I guess the current rain here could be a factor.

Seats aren't being covered. They are making slots in the seats for the crotch straps for the harness.

I'm trying to make it to the tuning session. I'm really hoping to to have the car out of the upholstery shop tomorrow. If that happens I'll be working on it as much as I can this weekend. One of my friends that was supposed to be helping me won't be able to this weekend but he will next weekend. I don't think I will be able to get everything done I want to before the tune. I'm gonna probably just skip the RaceLogic TCS installation and work on the ductwork after the tune. Lotta things are gonna be missing from the car if I do make it to the tune.

Honestly, if you're pressed for time, let that tuning session pass. You could use the extra time to work out any problems that may show up, not to mention completing the car further.

That is, unless you already paid for the tuning session. In that case, ignore what I said

I paid for the tune like 2 years ago. I've missed Steve Kan coming to this are 3 times since then I think.

On another note... The shop just called me. My car is done!

I'm calling the tow truck right now and heading over to the shop.
