MO '87 13B-RE swap

Guess I'll start my build thread being that I'm about halfway through it.

I've got a 1987 TII that I'm in the process of completely rebuilding. Sadly I blew the TII, have yet to take that apart to see exactly what the damage is, but now I've got a 13B-RE swap with.
This is only going to be a weekend driver by the way.

The engine is all done.
Complete rebuild with...

Rotary Aviation 2mm super seals
Solid corner seals
Rotary Aviaton overhaul kit
Large streetport and polished
Banzai racing fuel rails
1600 RC fuel injectors (primary and secondary)
Block-off plates for OMP, ACV, ISC and rear turbo oil return line
Ported exhaust sleeves
Ported UIM and LIM
90mm TB with custom elbow

As of now I have a godspeed 40mm wastegate and an HKS SSQV BOV, but those will both be change out with 2 Tial BOV's and either a 44mm or 60mm Tial wastegate, not sure yet.

That's it as far as the engine block goes.

Everything else...
Microtech LT10C ECU
Magnafuel fuel pump, filter, fuel pressure regulator and FPR guage
Fuel tank sump
streetlite flywheel
ACT 577 ft/lb clutch kit
All AEM gauges-wideband, tru-boost, oil pressure and water temp
Godspeed radiator
Koni adjustable shocks
5-lug conversion
S5 tail lights
Short throw shifter

I also have an AEM AI system that I bought but am now debating whether I need/want to use it.

I'll put pic's up later, and more as the build goes on.
Questions, comments, pointers, recommendations, pointers, etc. are all welcome.

if it's a t2 why would you have to do a 5 lug swap?

Sorry, I mixed that list up with stuff that is already done and stuff i need to get. I'll go back and edit it to make sense. As for your question, haha, i don't know why I thought that. My bad. I was just over thinking everything I have done to the car I guess.

Pics of disassembling my 13B-RE, the carbon caked rotors, the process of cleaning my water pump housing (notice the shiny clean spot and the not so clean grime), and the Rotary Aviation overhaul kit I used.

Pic of my engine assembled with my fuel rails (those ID2000's aren't mine, I'll be using RC 1600's), ported UIM and LIM, 90mm. Rotary Works TB and intake elbow. My 3 fuel rails w/o injectors. My lightweight flywheel, poly transmission mounts, and Comp clutch kit that I was going to use but then realized I need a bigger better one. The one I'll be using is the one stated in my first post, which I have, just not a picture of it. My 13B-RE motor mounts, intake manifold gaskets, and parts I will no longer be using such as the 3" down pipe (I will have a full 4" exhaust), 3" v-bands and flanges, and the brand new t3t4 turbo. My SS oil cooler lines, and turbo oil feed and return lines. My Microtech LT-10c ECU.

Master pro refinishing-Metal strip automotive paint stripper.
I bought it from O'rileys.

The motor mounts are from Banzai-racing.com, and the trans. mounts are from himni-racing.com. If you need the links let me know.

I got the motor from jspecauto.com, here's the direct link to the rx7 motors.

I don't know what the templet was or if there was even one used. My mechanic did it.

i suppose it's none of my business, but it is relevant (and i'm curious), but did you confirm that your mechanic ported a rotary before?

Ya, he has an '85 RX7, with a 13B-RE in it, of his own that he built and races, making 806 whp and runs low 8's in the 1/4 mile. He's also built other high power rotaries for customers and friends.

Damn I wish you were a bit closer!

What did they charge freight to ship the motor to you? I'm in KC so it shouldn't be to much different.

I honestly cannot remember how much the shipping was. I'm about an hour SE of KC and I think it was around $100 or something. My mechanic is actually in Overland Park. You ever go to fast Fridays at KC trends in OP?

Here's the first start up. Hasn't been tuned yet in this video, but the ECU map was pulled from another FC with a very similar build.

Make sure when the engine is installed that is sits level and true. The best thing to do is pull a measurement from the framerail to the front e-shaft bolt with the stoc engine and the stock mounts. Using this measurement compare it with the banzai mounted engine. I bought mounts many years ago and the engine didn't fit where it should and it caused all types of problems with driveshaft angle etc etc. They were so bad that it ended up killing passenger side motor mounts every single year.
