Thanks guys, I really appreciate that

As for next, I have a month of insurance left til the car goes hibernating, if the weather is good i'l drive if possible.
After that it will probably sit outside of the garage for some time under cover, because my daily needs bodywork badly..
I hope to get on it in about February.

So the things i want to do on it before driving season:
*LSD, but i probably have money for used fd3s torsen and s4 driveaxle ends
*smooth underbody, front splitter and if i can a Re-Amemiya diffusor
*Get it polished
*coilovers maybe
*cold air box
*clean and repaint everthing under the rear bumper
*Dyno tune, because i have no idea how much power it has right now and do not want to exceed 400hp because of the n/a rear iron.
*tidy everything up what I can

And after that I drive

I haven't done much lately because i got cold and catched some virus and been sick at home.

My childhood friend made me these:

somehow i do not have pics of these on hubcaps right now...

Then the body plastics on the fenders... they have been kinda loose because the plastic attaching thingies are broken or do not exist at all..

on drivers side i just put a bolt inside the trim piece and a nut inside the fender with a rubber washer under it for not scratching paint

On the passenger side, the plastic had these white attaching things but the fender did not..

So i found a miata injector seal kit what had these rubber bushings with a H shape if looked from the side..
they fit perfectly inside the holes the fender has

Problem solved!
Not perfect on the passenger side because of the s4 fender but still much better.

Drivers side bumper lense

Full of water
Dried and cleaned, applied new silicone
Turn signal also.

And when i searched for a new rad for my winter ride (friend lent me the car because he just bought it to get a A-pillar exterior trim piece) a mazda 323 automatic 1990..
I found RX-8 foot mats, and they fit almost perfectly! Just washed them yesterday at car wash...

Yeah i have been busy fixing the 323 instead of rx7 but i need to..

It just have to hold up until spring, but the rear brakes are bad and so on... stuff whats needed to be taken care of.

So i will probably not update so often anymore, because I love my Capella Wagon also, and it needs body rebuild.
But I'll continue at new year, with some posts here in this october once in a while, if something interesting happens.

This is how the caps look on the car

Took a drive when i was sick, couldn't resist a nice autumn day.

Guy from Hiiumaa brought me this for rebuild:

Will open it soon but I guess i dont have some time for building it bcause doing this:

And this is yesterday, when i put the cover on the car:

I left the garage at 3.30 AM and came back in 2PM and the car was like this:

I bet these were the bums who always go dumpsterdiving (it's a really good garbage bin, I always find something useful from there)
Theres a camera just right there and I may get to have a look on it.

Good to know that Iv'e inspired someone A little advice, invest in some tools, like a cheap welder if you have rust issues and a good jack, makes the build much easier and enjoyable..

So driving for this year is done, frost in constantly on the ground.
I pumped the tires to a 3bar pressure, should still spray some oil to intake while cranking just in case, not sure if its enough oil film from premix in there...and maybe put some tape on the bad window seals, to keep water away...
Put some newspapers inside to collect moisture and clean the seatbelts and steeringwheel to keep mold away..
Gonna push it in the garage in the first opportunity.

Granny left this world today morning.

Thanks to her I got this car and the RB mufflers what are so wonderful...
I'm really happy that I managed to take her for a ride that one time,
hoping she gets straight to Toonela and has a happy afterlife or a good new one in case of reincarnation.

So that's it for this year, see ya in the next.

Happy new year everybody!

I changed the coolant, fearing that it will freeze, because i can't remember how much water was mixed in there. But that's all I have done in this winter, because i'm still fixing my daily.
If interested, here's a build thread for it:
Mazda 626 GW 1.8 66KW 1998 psyaddict : Lugejate autod

So why has it taken so long?
Because at some point i decided that I will fix everything, so it will be worry free for the next 10 years and i can concentrate on my 7, also it's quite a learning project for my future 818/rx3 race car
I also went to a new job, now i'm fixing cars- all cars, different marques , so it's a lot of learning also, dont know much about german-french vehicles (still not a fan of them, especially VAG group, BMW is quite ok)

The new job will give me more money at some point and that's crucial for building a rx7 in Estonia.
Also I have less free time now, the old job was boring, but less stressful and i was free at 16.30 or even earlier, and at first 2-3 weeks at new place i was totally worn out by evening so no garage time inside the week + christmas+new years celebrations.. Haven't got a full pay since October, always having trouble to pay my bills so no parts for rx7 anyway.... Hoping it will change next month
But now i'm on to work again.
Right now 626 looks like this:

Also at the end of last year, many people have contacted me, probably because they read my mazdaklubi.com rx7 build.

I knew there was a greyish fc3s with a number plate of RX7 somewhere, and the guy wrote to my asking where to get a front lip. Probably the only other S5 in Estonia, and some time later it was in Estonias most popular car magazine:

And a while later a guy connected me through facebook, and told he and his father have to fc's @ the big island- Saaremaa
Got some pic's of one, looks really nice and also surprise under the hood:

The guy knew nothing about the car, said that father told something is broken inside the engine, and it will be expensive to repair, also not willing to sell and not knowing what engine management it has, so it's probably stock ecu- no wonder an apex blew

And on top of all this i found THAT behind my work:

It has a rear hatch and i could drill out the rear fender panels and stuff, also a n/a rear suspension heavily corroded..

Exclamation

hmm where to begin..
So iv'e been busy with life, so much events with workmates (old car rally) ,Republic of Estonia 100, other peoples engines
(can't believe there was a 12a in a junkyard in estonia)
and so on.. not much time for the cars but it's spring now, and it almost feels warm..

That made me think of starting the 7, at some point and then it went so warm! This is last weekend:
some fresh fuel and premix

sprayed some oil in the engine a few weeks before that, so no i just pumped the oil pressure up without the ecu connected, and then thought of starting the car, but it was not so easy, although it feels warm under the sun, it's still quite cold and it has not been tuned for under 5Celsius.
So I changed the battery from my mothers audi tdi, and it started with half a turn lumpy idle at first minute and a lot of condensation from the exhaust.

So what has broken during the winter you ask?

Paint on the spoiler

probably a crack in the paint and water froze...
Also my windshield, guessing the same thing.. the window seals are so old that water pours through them and probably thatswhy it has a crack now, was gonna change it anyway because it's old and the main reason is the hardened and shrunken seals. I hope theres no rust under the glass...
One headlight didn't go back down anymore, but repaired itself
Some small pieces of paint from the rims have been fallen off, and some more clearcoat
The front right fender paint is chipping, used spray paint for it but i only had one can.. Gonna fix it again- i have a paint gun now!

Most of these things would have not happened if the car cover had been on it... the one that was stolen...

so i had been talking to my boss about bringing my car to work (other guys also have cars there) because i cant push the 626 outside since it's not painted yet, but i need to work on the 7 aswell..
So the day after starting the engine i made an insurance and first thing i went to buy a wiper (also broke at winter), then straight to carwash to get the dirt off. Pretty long lines waiting for wash, because of the sunniest and warmest weather this year...
Then drove it to work and made a compression test.. from the wrong hole.. read 90 psi on both rotors, then parked the car in the yard.. Also broke the almost new sparkplug wire, gonna fix it.

Next day:

my car on the right top corner

Now it's melted again.. and yesterday i drove my car in.

At autumn i thought i have a worn out wheel bearing, now i discovered i have two on the left side.
Searched for the exhaust leak that has been bothering me but no success, maybe the sound was always there and i just didnt notice it.
Then i decided to bring some parts for it from my own garage and discovered that I have a brand new set of bur9eqp sparkplugs, cant buy them locally, or can actually but the order takes time and theyre like 25 euros a piece with a wholesale price..
But i was searching for the brake rebuild kit (oem) and did the front brake job.. really nice brakes to work on compared to most.

new seals on

my girl painted the mazda logo white, looks so much nicer:

Also i have been buying some parts
Got a fd3s diff from the Netherlands 70K km on it (thanks to HiGGi I didnt buy any halfshaft ends, because all euro fc-s are open diff so i dont need them luckily, saved me fair amount of cash) (not arrived yet)
An 4 inch aluminium pipe for the air filter
Turbo gaskets (just in case)
Found myself some wheels that were under a fc3s from Czech Republic, not have the money yet but working on it.

Really excited about driving again

Yeah it's on the road sometimes but no tech inspection done yet. Need to change the windshield first.

Bought a new battery, the best with that small size that i could have, fits perfectly.

The fd torsen diff also arrived from Holland
supposedly has only 70k kilometers on it.
Have to buy at least a crush tube to change it?

So i had this camber problem at front left, because my random shock absorbers were different brands or whatever. Decided to ask a friend again about him selling me hes old suspension, he didnt want to sell but offered to lend me those.

Koni adjustable shocks with eibach springs, i did change only the shocks tho, because my springs are new. And lower.
made the front end much stiffer, i'm changing the rears soon also.

Also the left side wheels had a pretty nice up-down and side to side play, so i ordered a rear wheel bearing and front from the local bearing shop after i found some info on them at nopistons.. the front did not need changing, only tightened it, but changed the rear.
Probably need to change it again since it had a bag of grease with it that i did not put in, because of not wanting to brake the seal on it.. but i measured the dimensions of the oil seal and can do it again easily..

when doing it, i noticed that the rear pads are quite worn... so got some oem replacement brembo pads, but now i feel that the handbrake is not so sharp than before... need to check that out.

And a rust hole at the left rear wheel arch..

Removed the black stuff and some water was dripping out...
I let it dry for some 24h, sprayed some acid on it so the rust wont progress.
Then i just covered it with fiberglass and that black undercoating, i have the whole winter to fix that spot.

And the last weekend we went driving with my gf

Everything seemed nice but i noticed some hesitations/light bucking when accelerating with only a quarter of throttle.. and when we arrived back to the city and have been cruising a bit with city speed i peeked at the oil temp. gauge and it was slightly higher than usual, turned my head at the gauges and noticed the water temperature quite high, almost at hot.... shut the engine down fast and pulled by the side of the road. Only thing that saved from boiling was the big griffin radiator, saved the day actually, the overflow tank was not even flowing over the top.
The fan did not start, so i instantly suspected the fan relay (has happened before, the relay melted) but it looked okay.
Then i just cut some random wires what were hanging from the rear light, connected them to the fan straight with some plasters i found at my bag and drove back to work.
The problem was the relay connection i guess, looks burnt..

can't trust those thingies..

And the helicopter sound i hear when doors and windows closed is getting worse i think, maybe i'm imagining it... i really hope..
Or maybe the sound is normal, dont know.. cant find a leak or anything..
