Nice wheels, but I think 17s are where it's at on an FC. Although, tires are a lot cheaper for 15s and 16s.

w0ppe 09-16-12 04:08 AM

Deep dish wheels! I'm more flat with my lip though, I like the stock 10Th AE wheels personally. Just wish they were a little wider though...

jozeyrx7 09-17-12 10:56 PM

those bbs wheels are perfect! they would suit the car 100% i bet. best of luck mate, you're doing a top job

Yeah maybe, I'm already looking at events to go to next year, just to get some motivation to work on the car :). Rotarystock would be nice, time attack would be also be cool to do, gatebil would be really crazy but that's a lonnngggg drive though, we'll see how the car works out first.

Yeah, sorry for the lack of updates, I took the last weekend off from working on the car, and most of the non 4-rotor related stuff I'm working on at the moment is pretty boring anyway. I am very pleased to say though that the wiring loom is pretty much done for now, I can't really finish it untill the engine, gearbox and some more bits are in place but the loom in the car itself is in. I connected a battery to it, put in a few fuses and nothing started smoking :), some pieces of the car actually started showing some signs of life

The ecu connected right up and started sending happy signals to the rest of the car, It's sending 5600rpm to the tacho here, so yeah, the stock tacho is pretty crappy. Really need to find a decent steering wheel by the way

Even some of the lights started working :icon_tup:

So with that done for now I'm back to doing bodywork. After I painted the chassis I really needed a break from sanding and prepping parts which is why I did the wiring loom first, but I still need to do the bumpers, hood, roof, mirrors, that fuel filler flap thing, headlights and the front wings which I'm prepping at the moment so the next update will probably involve some sanded bodyparts.

I just got my lights and cluster working in the project car last night! It's not a huge step, but it feels great to see everything light up haha. Props on the phenomenal project!!

First off, Amazing work and dedication in this build. Don't see many builds with this level of quality everywhere. Actually this would be the second great build I've seen. Other one was an autocross tube chassis build with an LS6/t56 transaxle.

You looked into running the GM gen III/IV v8 coil near plug coilpacks? They would mount cleaner then the pencil coils, and more fitting to a plug thats not buried inside of a cylinder head. Theres a decent amount of info for them on the meqasquirt pages somewhere, and are known to be quite powerful.

Yeah I know about the GM coil near plug coilpacks, but their not very easy to come by here in europe. I'll try to get some if the coil setups I've got lying around here won't work.

Currently busy prepping bodypanels for paint. I suck at this so a buddy is helping me getting everything straight in exchange for some machined parts :)

Dunno if he's planning on racing it, but some events dont allow you to have carpet

tegheim 09-23-12 11:55 PM

The exhaust don't allow carpet!!
