Yeah I know, but it's easy to just fire 2 ignition plugs at the same time with one ignition channel so I don't see a good reason to use 1 plug per chamber.

Still working on the wiring at the moment, already spend a lot of time on it and I'm not even nearly done :( This is the ecu which I mounted in the stock location together with the lsu 4.9 lambda controller/sensor.

Not really, still working on the wiring. I'm putting in a lot of hours but it's just soo much work, I'm about 2/3rd done now. When starting I already figured building an entire wiring harness out of scratch for the entire car would be a lot of work... I was wrong, it's not a lot of work, it's a huuuge near infinite amount of work! Me spending the majority of the time trying to figure out how 80's electronics actually works doesn't help either :scratch:

I'm in the same boat that you are right now with the wiring harness. Did you kept the stock headlight / turn signal switches? How did you do it? do you have a wiring diagram of your set up? Loving this build!

Yeah, I used all the original switches, even the oem logicon completely works. I don't have a wiring diagram but it's pretty much wired the same way as stock. I did modify a few things though, I used new relays for everything, I ditched the oem turn signal / horn unit in favour of a small universal blinking relay, and ditched the oem fuse box in favour of a smaller simpler one. Everything is a lot more simple now, very easy to troubleshoot if anything goes wrong. Pulling the engine out will also be a breeze since the engine will have a seperate wiring loom with a big multipin connector that links the engine to the chassis. I also made the loom so that during cranking only the engine, ecu and oil pressure gauge gets power, to save some of the battery power drain to help get the 4-rotor engine going. It's all not really super difficult or anything, you just have to get into it. Get a laptop with the rx7 wiring diagram, a lot of wires with different colours, and soldering stuff, connectors, crimping tools, heatshrink stuff, labeling stuff ect. and just start.

Well, an update wouldn't be very interesting, still busy on the wiring loom. I can post a picture, but it would pretty much look the same as the last one, a bare chassis with a bunch of wires in it. It is coming along great though, I'm nearly done so I can start putting things on the car soon. Also going to pick up some sick wheels tomorrow, already have a set of 18x8.5 et35 SSR type C wheels, but I'm going to ditch them in favour of something better :)

I can see your freshly painted white interior is getting a weeeee bit dirty! hahaha I'm having the exact same problem with my build, shes gonna need a little touch up paint after the cage is in.

I am curious to know what kind of training you have done to obtain the skills you have using the cnc ? and what programs you used to design the custom parts ex. radiator, eccentric shaft, and other engine parts ?

I would think he's a Mechanical Engineer by trade, they like to use Solid Works and or ANSYS finite element software for design. Combine that with love for Wankel and a sweet machine shop, bam he's the Nederlands Jessie James. :worship:

Pretty nice I think, but 18" might be a bit much on a pretty stock bodied FC, I really like the way some FC's looked with agressive 16" ones, and found these for dirt cheap so I couldn't pass them up. Should go well with the white too after a bit of polishing

They are BBS RZ394's, need a bit of work to fit and look good but I think I can make it work. Good thing I didn't paint my front wings yet, I already rolled and pulled those but it's going to be close, might need to massage those a bit more and get some lower profile tyres, the ones that are on there now are huge!

Yeah I know, the white is near impossible to keep clean when working on the car. Shouldn't need a touch-up when done though, just a good clean. :)


I did what I think you call polytechnic school, and nothing is done using cnc, everything is done manually. As for programs I used solidworks for the most stuff, and a little autocad here and there if I want to sketch something simple out quick or need some coordinates for re-drilling wheels or something.


Crap, you're right :nod: I forgot to mention it because it isn't powered through the ignition switch :blush:, the fuel pump relay is wired directly to the battery and the ecu turns the relay on.

yeah sorry dude your my living hero at this point those bbs are sick i would go with them that is if you planned on staying with smaller brakes
