1991 Supercharged Vert Build

Getting ready to start on a car for my wife. Have a Vert that I have had sitting around for a few years, and I just picked up a Camden supecharger EFI setup for 86-88 RX7's, so I figure why not supercharge this thing since it is a little heaver than the coupes.

My plans:

Black 1991 Vert, 86,000 original miles. Bought with no engine.

Black interior is mostly in good condition except for Dash, Door Panels, and Seats. I have a set of Vert seats and door cards in mint condition that I have collected over the years. I also have a Vert dash in very good condition to swap out. Rest of interior just needs a good cleaning.

Top and headliner will be replaced with new.

Body is in good condition except for lower rear driver quarter just behind the wheel. I will straighten this out as best as possible, then both sides will be covered with a set of Infini bumper caps that I have. I also will be adding stock S5 TII side skirts and S5 TII front lip.

Wheels will be either Infini 16" wheels (same wheel as Vert wheels except they are 16" instead of 15") or a set of Crown Vic 16" mesh wheels.

Eibach lowering springs

86-88 13B N/A Block with Camden SuperCharger EFI setup using S5 throttle body and electronics, 770cc Injectors, RTEK 1.8 N370 ECU with MOP removal (will be using 86-88 mechanical MOP). This is the simplest way to control the engine/supercharger setup as it will pull timing above 9psi, has a built in FCD, lowers secondary staging RPM, and will compensate for the 720cc injectors. All for $140! I use their 2.0 in my 91 TII and love it. Will be running aprox. 10-12 psi

Will be running a S5 TII tranny and S4 GXL LSD

Plan on running factory air and power steering.

Pictures coming soon.....

i would take it easy on the camden, that's alot to ask of it without tearing it to shreds.

yeah, no doubt I was a little high on the numbers, probably more in the 6-8 psi range. Gonna try for 10psi though. I have -5 to -12 pullys. Gonna start with the -12 as a baseline, and go smaller from there and try to get up to 10psi.

Couple pics after dragging it in from the FC yard.

Interior beat up by the Texas sun.

Seats that will be going in.

Great work man! Love supercharges! If I still had my 94 Camry 3L that would have a TRD supercharger on it ASAP!

Also jealous on the shop! I think I just came! You should see mine! It's crammed full!

Been a while since I have updated, and there have been some changes. I recently purchased a GTUs with a street ported motor, and I have decided to put the street ported motor in this Vert, and feel that the GTUs would be more suited supercharged. Not much involved or exciting about a regular convertible, so I will probably not post here any longer, but have started a new thread for the GTUs project and can be found here.....
