TX 1989 Turbo II Build

I bought a 1989 Turbo II shell that sat in this guys garage for 5+ years with a completely disassembled motor with a bad rotor and housing. I just a bought a used JDM S5 13b turbo motor with 100-120 compression. Here are some pics. I will post more pics as I get this badboy back to its glory.

Car before I picked it up

Previous owner was clearly not very organized

After I towed it and was about to clean it off a bit. I could'nt wash it with soup and water due to the Stage 3 water restrictions here in Texas.

Parts out of the car and organized

So I popped off the trans on the new engine and discovered an ORC 409 race clutch. The disc looks worn but the flywheel and pressure plate still look salvagble. The flywheel does have a groove on the outer portion so hopefully it can be machined out without compromising the holding power.

Got the old trans out although it may have been easier to just use the old one. Oh well

Finally got the clutch wheel off to get machined which was a B****. I had to use an angle iron to lock the flywheel in place then heated up the flywheel bolt for a few seconds. Then cranked on it with a 4 foot breaker bar and it finally came off.

Now to get this flywheel machined.

and here it is sitting in the engine bay. I discovered that after we got it in place I was missing the 3 bolts for the motor mount that go into the oil pan. thanks to turbo_dave for sending me those missing bolts for free!
