Cheers guys. Will post up 100% completed photos tomorrow.

In the mean time before I get the car back and start testing I thought i'd post it up here first.

I've been getting the "Charge" warning light on my dash ONLY when my car is OFF. As soon as I turn it on it goes away... Brand new battery Optima Red Top..

Going to be testing the output of alternator when I get it back but thought i'd post up here first incase its a common issue.

Cheers,
Stef.

While at panel shop my heater hose starting leaking coolant so just fixed it today. Tried all day yesterday to find one to replace it. Ended up just taking it off and finding one close enough that works and it works a charm. Also while I had no coolant in system I installed my Mishimoto Thermostat which opens at 68 instead of 82 factory (I think).

TBH havn't had any time to grab any half decent photos of the car but its looking great back together. Those wondering all work was done by CDR Paint & Panel which i'm very satisfied with. Great customer service, pricing and results!

I've picked up a 180 CA front lip for the front and when I get pods i'll get them painted and put on should complete the look.

Heres some pics of it complete off my iPhone (excuse quality).

Cheers guys,
Stef.

Went for a cruise today with the RX8 boys...

Was fine till we got to the twistys and I ended up scrubbing really hard which Is weird because it wasn't scrubbing before when I tracked or did twistys and nothing has changed suspension or wheel wise....

I'm definitely well over due for a wheel allignment cause I've dropped rear subframe, installed coilys, wheels & sway bars lol. Just been putting it off which I know is bad ...

This really isn't looking good have a look at this photo ...

Left is where the wheel should be and right is where it shouldn't be haha. But what I don't understand is why it's started scrubbing cause looking back at photos it's been like this the whole time. Tomorrow ill have a look at it and find out what's going on with scrubbing then ill take it to get a wheel allignment and see wtf is going on with my axel or why the **** they arnt straight..

Cheers, Stef.

Saw Stef's FC in the morning sunlight on Saturday, paint looks unreal.

Thanks again for the seat rail. Just need to see if my seat fowls on anything when I install, have some flexibility with the seat alignment left and right so should be fine.

This weekend I went over to help Brendan ( BukkaneNinja ) finish off his car to get it ready for tune on monday, didn't really do much for him mainly moral support. Then I went to emilo's to see where he was at with the GTR. Had almost finished putting it back together but it's pretty much all ready for tune tomorrow so keen to see it running and hopefully bum a ride in it!

Anyway, on the way home from emilo's last night (I left around 6.50pm) I snapped a fanbelt, as soon as I realised I pulled over & went to send my mate tom a message but phone died in the process of sending. So thinking the message didn't send, I started walking. Hoping a fuel station wasn't too far away. I got to the closest fuel station at 8;30 (7.5 km's away from my car(FML)) and got a cab home. Only to pick up another car and charge my phone to call a towie. (also rang tom to find out he did actually get my message and they had 4 cars out for me - Cheers Tom, Rory, Charlie, Jordan, Emilo + Claire, Steve, Alex, and the rest).

Towed it back to emilos and fixed it this morning, As doing so I was tightening up the tensioner on the power steering & it was fairly rusty and it snapped so drove home with no power steering.

Noticed my temps were really good and I gave it a few boots and still wasn't rising so I'm fairly over the V-type belt setup. It must keep slipping (even though I've checked tension on it many times) so after 3 belt snaps, i've gone out and ordered a gilmer drive kit. One that includes power steering..

Hopefully it'll be here before the weekend also this is last week before I leave for america so updates will stop for 4 weeks

Cheers,
Stef.

Saturday I went to get tyres put on my meisters, got 225/40 on the front and 245/40 on the rear. So a fair bit of stretch. Sooo happy with the wheels!!!

Also painted and fitted my 180 CA front lip from Kmak. I just canned it satin black cause it'll probably take a fair bit of damage so i'll just spray it everytime it takes a hit or two hahaha.

Loving how the car is sitting at the moment, just need to put on my wind/rain visors above the doors, buy & fit some foglights, modernise the rear tail lights.. and buy/fit rear pods and exterior should be pretty much complete!

Little bit of an update.

So since last update I have;

Installed wind/rain visors,
Installed gilmer drive kit (pulleys/belt),
Changed waterpump
Installed fog light switch in the interior.

and Have received my fog lights in the mail, ordered remote central locking kit & new bonnet pin latch.

I've got a 9 day weekend coming up where I plan to do:

Remote central locking,
Fog Light install,
Install gauges (Apexi - Water temp, oil temp, oil pres & boost).
Fix a fuel leak (under tank)
Clean out carpets and interior thoroughly,
Final buff from CDR & Bonnet pin install
Remove final parts from vert shell and get rid of it.
Cruise control install from vert

So a little planned for ahead. When I got back from america I invested in a new camera as I've always been interested in photography so heres some teaser pics of the car at the moment.

So i've been "umming and arring" about buying a daily lately. Yesterday on my way home from work my car was running like mad POS. Stalling, missing ... anyway (feels like coilpacks are on way out) I decided **** it, and went out and bought a 1990 Toyota Cressy for #dailylyf. It's not yet RWC just have a few servicing things to do on it on the weekend and should have it registered by tomorrow. So keen to have FC3S as weekender only as it puts heaps of stress on working on it and having a deadline for work the next day.
Heres a pic of her at the moment..

Cheers,
Stef.

8/8/13

Today on daily;
Changed rocker cover gaskets
New spark plugs,
New Leads....

Tomorrow arvo just gotta:
-Put a new clamp on one of the coolant hoses, double check for no leaks then flush/fill her up with fresh coolant
-Chuck on a new oil filter & throw some new oil in her.
-New parker light
-Adjust bonnet leaver cable

Then shes pretty much good for RWC. Soo keen for dailylyf

11/8/13

Finished daily service work yesterday, Flushed coolant / put new clamp on, new filter, new oil and greased up bonnet latch. Hopefully get a RWC for her tomorrow if my guy can fit me in

Today on FC I installed my new stereo Sound quality is 100 times better than my ole kenwood. The stereo is only a Eonon G2240A (cheap chinese) but very happy with the quality of it, touch screen works well and all functions seem to work fine (havn't tested out GPS yet though).

Tomorrow I plan to;
- Install gauges [Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Water temp & Boost]
-Take off waterpump and re-put it on as it seems the paper gasket has popped out up top.
-Tidy up some of the wiring.
- Order some new plugs and coilpacks from nearby Auto store. As atm is running like a POS (stalling really easy and not going above 3.5k without missing like a ****)

After I've done the above and shes running well i'm happy to book her into RMS for a new 1bar wastegate spring and retune. I believe I've got everything needed to do this.

I'm also going to have a word to ben see if its possible to get a 044 intake rather than external as my pump is redic loud.

Cheers,
Stef.

Thumbs up

Only worked on FC for a couple of hours this morning.

Since i've owned the car there has always been a fuel smell in the cabin. I hadn't ever spent much time looking from where it was coming from, today I decided to find it. It was the first place I looked, drain plug. So drained **** all fuel I had left (#rotarylyf) lol. Got a new washer, and put some thread tape on aswell, seems to have stopped for now.

null_zps2e154ab9.jpg?t=1376471955

It only used to leak over time, funnily enough. And it was the fumes coming up through the car and would create like a condensation under the rear boot carpet... Hard to explain but I took the carpet out, too clean it .. and previous owner mustve had a battery leak acid and never cleaned it up. It had taken off half of the sound deadening around it so I cleaned it all up and painted it black afterwards.
