VictoriaBritish.com. Order the catalogue, it has more items than the website.

Thanks for the compliments. So far it has been worth all the work, now to get the engine broken in and finish tuning.

That's amazing.

Hello,

That's a gorgeous 7 and I must tell you that I really admire the work that you've done on it. If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living? Is the body work something you've just picked up on the side? That looks like it takes a good amount of dedication. I haven't fully checked my car over for rust yet but when I do (if I find a good amount in important areas) what is the best way to repair it? Thanks a ton for your help and, once again, that widebody is absolutely stunning.

Talk to you soon,
Alexander Hipple

Thanks Alex,

I putter around the shop and house thanks to the efforts of deceased elders, but it is time to get a real job again.

The body work I just picked up through trial and error and advice. First big fiberglass job I have ever done was modifying and installing the body kit.

There is quite a bit of info here on rust repair, some good, some not. When you get to that point, post pics and we can go from there. Most everyone has to deal with rust in some form or another.

No clearcoat, it is a single stage urethane paint, didn't come out as flat as I wanted it.

As far as the wing and tip, the wing is old school, an original Mariah whaletale, no longer made, and the tip is getting replaced with a bigger one as I am building a full 3" exhaust.

The tip, tinted windoews and tinted tail lights are the only parts that are not old school.

I think you should've kept the tailights stock instead of making them black

bump? I disagree, having seen it in person and the stock tails would stick out a bit much when all else is black.

It's the whole stealth look thing. If I put stock tail lights back in, then I would need to install the red RX7 garnish center piece too. Still may do that one of these days. As it sits, the only RX7 logo on the body is the hatch latch. It's soooo much fun watching people stare at the car with that 'wtf is that?' look on thier face.

I know what you guys mean. I just couldn't do it to my taillights because mine look like they are brand new, but they're really 23 years old. You know what i mean?

I like how alike we think, the only thing I have on my car as well saying RX7 is the hatch latch. Its going to be fun seeing the looks a car that looks so different will get. As far as the tail lights go, I was thinking about tinting mine, but I kinda reconsidered when I really thought about it. The taillights kinda go with my glossblack paint job, and I don't want it to be a safety hazard.

Its interesting to read back to my first post about your car, the look of this kit has really grown on me and I must say I really like the looks of it. But at the end of the day the purpose of the kit is not looks, its performance and being able to fit huge tires in is awesome!

Oh my God. Congrats Trochoid. Absolutely gorgeous car, and done ever so right. I'm so glad its going now. Now stop teasing us with just pics, I want to see some vids.

Edit: I didn't see original post date on this, but I had never seen your car before. Still yet it is a great looking car regardless, and even moreso I still want to see vids of it.

Well, I was getting ready to do some fine tuning on the Mikini and then take some vids, until I found out my Comp 140 fuel pump was leaking so the car has been down over a month while I've been tryng, not very hard, to mod the tank for a 2nd gen in tank FI pump.

I got some good news this week and have some cash coming in so it looks like I finally get to do my TII conversion in 4-6 weeks. Need to gather up the rest of the needed parts and get ready for the rebuild.

Once that engine is broke in, I will be posting some smokey vids.

The 1/2bp-1/2sp 12A engine, with less than 3k miles will soon be for sale. 1400 buys it, short block only. The sooner it's sold, the sooner I can buy the rebuild kit for the TII. Lots of porting and powdercoating to be done on the new engine.

Now I need to find an fmic, T04 exhaust mani, 720/1000 cc injectors, T04 turbo good for 400+ hp, lightweight flywheel and counterweight, MegaSquirt, laptop, wideband, wastegate, etc., etc..

I have parts and/or powdercoating I can trade for some of these items. Top quality parts only, no ghetto fab or worn out parts. Anyone who thinks they can help with parts, PM me.

Sorry for the blatant thread jack, but it's my thread.

^^^ looks like your also doing exactly what im doing haha. All these people with sweet TII swaps got me drooling, the pay cheques just aren't coming in fast enough.

And as you already know it gets expensive so quick its rediculous. Right now I have about $7000-8000 (CAD dollars) invested in my car and it probally needs another $15, 000-20, 000 before its on the road at over 400 rwhp.

Don't need the AC most of the time. Also future plans call for a TII swap. I didn't want to fight with mating it up. It will also make it easier to install an fmic.

Awesome Project but kit is a little too big or wide for my likeing. I like my sleek little rx7.
But my biggest concernj..... How do you not have a audio system in your car!!!
My rx7 wouldnt be the same if i didn't have music. Oh well, awesome car none the less.

I used to think the same thing, but since then Ive decided that the rotary sound is all the music I need to listen to. Even with a killer sound system in one of my FBs, It spends most of its time turned off!

Damn do I love the sound of these things...

Oh man. Trochoid, that thing is gorgeous. That's impressive at all the work you've done on that thing. And, in only a year! That's nicely done up, I can help but gawk. Love the wide body kit and choice of wheels, too.

Do you have any other plans, or tiny details, you'll be doing, minus the turbo and megasquirt?

Need to redo the door panels and find interior handles that will fit around the door bars. TII tranny, wideband, maybe fog lights. Seats and maybe a front brake upgrade that allows me to keep the Epsilons. Wheel spacers to push the fronts out to the fenders.

Eventually it will get a different color of paint, may keep the matte look and add a metalflake, don't know yet.

Trochoid, have you seen this: http://www.sevensonly.com/RX7%20Brake%20Upgrade.htm
A brake upgrade that allows for 4 x 110 wheels, 15" minimum. 11.75 rotors, 4 piston calipers. Front and rear both available, just no parking brake provision for the rear.
I considered this myself, but it's a little pricey for my current budget.
Love the Epsilons, otherwise I would give the same advise as I did to Dan, to go with RESpeeds T2 kit.
