You know what, I've wondered this as well. It could be a reference to Sérgio Mendes' group "Brasil 66" which helped fuel the popularity of bossa nova style Brazillian music in the 60's. I played in a big band after college that had a very old book of jazz standards. Every once and a while we'd pull out a tune called "Brazil 66, Argentina 0". Given the two country's strong football (aka soccer) rivalry I figured it was some sort of game score or stat, but I have never seen a football match make it to 66 goals.

Been awhile since I posted, so I thought I'd share that Brazil 66 took home the "Raddest Import" award from Radwood NorCal last Sunday! Totally worth driving 20 miles one direction on slicks and getting a sunburn.
