no sleep for the guy low on time.

got my lower rad hose figured out.

Finally, my build thread, some weird crap in here :)-ibart0q.jpg

my upper one is just going to be one of those flex lines, but i have to find one that is that short.

Finally, my build thread, some weird crap in here :)-t9cf64r.jpg

and finished up my rad support. ended up taking 2 inches out of it and lowered it about an inch and a half, and it all clears the hood just fine.

so when i was at the parts store looking through their rad hoses i happened across one that made my lower rad hose simpler. it was an almost 180 degree of rubber so i didn't need to use my 180 hard line.

so with that i only needed one chunk of tubing to connect the 2 rubber pieces. but rather then just have the whole thing just hanging there with no support so i ran a bar to a washer and bolted it to the back side of one of the steering rack bolts.

Finally, my build thread, some weird crap in here :)-lhvi4b0.jpg

so with all that, here's the final thing.

Finally, my build thread, some weird crap in here :)-ielclmy.jpg

now the funny part was the other chuck that i cut off to get the 180 turn worked for my upper hose.

now i just have to figure out what the hell that hose was supposed to go on. so in the future if i need to get another one.

Finally, my build thread, some weird crap in here :)-cj8sgrr.jpg

also got my rad fan mount all done and on.

Finally, my build thread, some weird crap in here :)-ae1bgf4.jpg

and last but not least i got my gauges mounted where i wanted them.

Finally, my build thread, some weird crap in here :)-ssgrpe2.jpg

it was a hell of a busy day, only one more day to do anything for who knows how long. i work the weekend and school starts monday. its probably going to be a few weeks until i get into the groove of school and figure out when i can get a little time out in the garage.

if i had one more week, i could get it moving under it's own power.

i have a goal of making it to the west coast subaru show next year. but i want to get it going long before then.

well last update for awhile now. school starts today and it wont be until the end of october until my schedule changes at work and i'm going to really even have any freeish time. assuming that my school work isn't going to take 100% of my free time.

but i did snap a couple last pics of what i did last friday, the last day i got to work on it.

i figured out how to finish my intake tube. i'm not 100% happy with the fact that it makes this weird turn back, but because i couldn't get a tighter bend with a 3" tube, i'm kind of stuck with how it sits.

this one will sit on the back burner in my head on how to maybe redo it different, but for the time being it will work just fine.

Finally, my build thread, some weird crap in here :)-xozgk7n.jpg

and last i got my hard lines made for my rear axle and mounted. over all the car is going to use stock 1st gen brake hoses, the rears, the axle to the body, but because i'm using the 4 pots on the front, i'm going to have to do something different then use the stock 1st gen hoses. but i'll figure that out another day.

Finally, my build thread, some weird crap in here :)-qt19mqz.jpg

but guys it's been a hell of a run. 5 and half weeks and i went from a car with out a stitch of wiring or anything really, to a running somewhat figured out car.

i'll keep you all up to date with what's going on with it, i have some goals in my head, moveable under it's own power by this winter, and drivable before next summer. i have a couple car shows i want to make it to and show off the monstrosity.

take care

Well I think the starter is dying and the motor hadnt ran in over a year, I think that's why it was being such a grump to wake up.

It's on my list of parts to buy. Now I'm just saving my penny's.

At least it started =P. Its better than all the work and it shittin on ya. Good work man i totally envy ur fab skills. That straight piece of rubber hose is that the same hose that makes the 90 degree bend or did u just take a pic of some random hose??. are u worried about your lower rad hose collapsing or is it springed??

are you talking about the piece that i was holding in my hand?

if so, that was piece of metal tubing to connect the 180 chunk i found at the parts store (that comes out of the engine) to the hose that comes out of the lower rad hose (ironically was the stock upper hose for the rx7).

As a friend of mine says, it's equal parts terrifying and brilliant

My answer for a remote shifter right now.

YAY for finding a balance between work, school, homework and the new girlfriend to still find a little time to work in the garage.

So I attempted to figure out the wiring for the wiper motor, I got low and high, but I could never get it to park.

sooooooo what to do, what to do what to do, ah hell, I'll just make the subaru motor work. Not even close to bolt in, but it is now.

I know it may sound kind of silly to say, but that would have had been a lot of work.

And if I was to try using the Subaru trans, the motor would have had to sit in front of the front axle line, which would had put the motor hanging out the front of the car.

And last but not least, awd is boring, rwd is where the fun is.

If you are talking about millen 4wd rx7 (or at least that's the only one I have heard of) he ran a transfer case and a front diff so the motor wasnt moved forward.

Got some more time out in the garage this week. Got most all of my hard brake lines made and got my ebrake mounted. Just need to run a line from the ebrake to the rear and I'll be all done with my brakes.

Nothing else? Sothe transfer case is just a piece that you can put between your rear axle and the front axle?

yes a transfer case is a piece that split the power to send power to the front of the car.

I'm not doing that, i'm doing all my stuff just rwd.
