Dutch '85 FB project

Hi guys,

With 15 years of FC ownership, and counting, the desire for more has been growing ever since.

About 3 years ago I purchased an '85 roller. With the plan of making this a nice clean car, with good suspension, build engine and minor period correct exterior mods, I felt that a roller was the sensible way to go because I do not want to mod a 12A engine.

2 weeks ago I purchased a turboII vert from Germany, that has been sitting outside (under a roof) since 2008 or longer, which became the donor for this project. Today I pulled the engine out so we can perhaps say that it is the start of this project. Even though it will probable not go so quickly.

I went a bit stupid on the engine plans, I just can't help myself, but the idea is to make this engine N/A, semi-P.P. with renesis rotating assembly and throttlebodies.

Unfortunately, the engine is seized, so I am hoping it's not completely destroyed but we'll see when I take it apart.

Got engine opened up and had them in the parts washer. Unfortunately the main components are in a sad state.

I think I could use one housing, the other one has flaking before the exhaust port going 3mm inwards.
The plates have surface damage due to corrosion. Not sure if grinding and re-coating would be an option but I assume that will be barely any cheaper then new ones from japan.

Pretty disappointing but I shouldn't complain as the engine didn't cost me anything to get at this point.

The rotors won't be used as i'd like to go with renesis rotating assembly, but media blasted one of them just to see how it looks.

Ooh! Shiney. They certainly look a lot better than the other ones. This should be so much fun.

I hope (and expect) it will! Thing is, I gotta wait so long before I can experience it

Small update

Dropped off the E-shaft and accessories in the UK at my buddy from GarageREG, and purchased a set of new N/A rotor's he had laying around. This will be fully clearanced and balanced.

In the meantime I am trying to design an intake manifold which is taking some time as a soldiworks beginner.

Been able to do some porting this weekend and received some flares earlier this year

Does anyone have port timings and duration written down for the xtreme rotary rx7 turbo bridge template (using the streetport only, no bridge)?
