81 custom widebody
Btw, for the dash display, Defi makes a unit called the Defi-Link Meter Advance ZD, which we will be using in our race car. Check it out, you may like it. It would make a great dash display or even just a monitor for many sensors(including rpm & speed and such) if you want to maintain your OEM cluster.

The diffusors you did look cool. Mine are a littel simpler than that. I need to get them on to get the full effect of the body kit.
Thanks for the kind words.
I actually meant that the display will work as a cluster (that's what we're using it for since we also junked our OEM cluster. Was just saying it could also work as a monitoring device if you were using an OEM cluster. You're good to go anyway, since you have the Sportcomp gauges already.
Also, no problem. I think your build, like several others, is a huge inspiration. Yours specifically due to the body work. Your work looks flawless.
I'm probably gonna have a go at this on our honda odyssey, since my FB is already widebodied . Ya, you read correctly, honda odyssey, lol. Our DD shop car is a '95 Odyssey slammed with a prelude 5-spd swap. I did all the body work to bring her back to OEM, but this on a completely different level. Your lines are so flawless, everything about the body is perfect. Now that's the type of body craftsmanship I hope I can achieve some day.

I'm back
Been awhile. Haven't touched the car in over a year. Time to get it done. The funny thing is I still haven't been able to find a windshield.
Welcome back! Are you looking for glass or plastic (Lexan)?
I had no issues finding a glass windshield for my car - hard part was finding a decent deal. Getting one installed tomorrow.
As far as Lexan is concerned Charlie Clark at KCRaceware.com molds 1/4" Lexan windshields for RX7s. Some trimming and fitting is required and they can be scratched easily. But Lexan is lighter.

glass
I'm looking for glass. The local shops around here would just rather not do it I think. Safelite totally blew me off. I would install it myself if I can find one.
Also glad to see you're still at it.
Most of the glass places probably don't have anyone who knows how to install glass on one of these anymore so they don't want to bother. I'm most likely going to replace the one on my 83 while it's all apart myself.
RockAuto Parts Catalog has them for around $200 shipped. Just a matter of getting some good urethane and a few cutting tools and you're good
Edit - that was looked up using an 85 model year. the 83 and older ones seem to be listed as out of stock. I didn't realize there was a difference. I would think they're all interchangeable...

Wow Kansas City must be the best place to get glass installed. I contacted several companies including Safelite and got estimates. When I explained that the original glass was removed, the pinch weld is cleaned off and I would be installing the trim the estimates got allot cheaper. I settled on KC Auto Glass for $130! Everyone I spoke with was told that this was a racecar.
The windshields in these cars are nothing special. They glue in using an adhesive you can get from NAPA. I have installed used windshields in the past - easy peezy.

glass and stuff
I'm not sure what the difference is between 84-85 glass and the older ones but it has to be really minor.
I'll install it. I have everything cleaned and I have all the stuff. I just need the glass. Never dreamed it would be so hard. Safelite gave me an estimate then they said I had to bring to the car to them then they just backed out altogether.
I'm continuing on with the car. Hopefully I'll find a windshield soon. Started on the wiring over the weekend. Even had some help with the wiring!
