I recall seeing that brochure when I was a kid. Seeing it now makes me think of fulfilling one of my dreams. The dream of owning an FD of course. Now that I should be starting back to work I should get to keep that dream!!
Your car is looking awesome!

Hey! Most of the bumper stuff is here. Progress pics soon. I think?

Anyways, did you know lots of Rx-7 manuals are on ebay? I always wondered where to get them. Duh, I guess. I like the year specific ones, for my '94. The '93 stuff is a bit easier to come across. PM me if you want the green ones, as you can see I got the '94 versions and don't need the green ones. Also, got an extra '95 US Mazda sales brochure previously pictured. Happy to send them to a good home at a fair discount.

Also picked up the '93 options brochure. Not many options for the US. Picked up a '92 UK brochure I really like, with cool details and foldouts (too much to picture). Got the '94 US Mazda brochure (not pictured yet). And, the motor trend thingy is pretty cool too. Wanna pick up a service highlights manual, and a couple other Rx-7 books. Need some new comic books too. Seems like I got some sort of fixation here. Better than drugs, but not much cheaper...

I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the '93 options pamphlet, so I did and also the '94 US brochure replete with glass sunroof picture. I'm not OCD. You're OCD!

Nice! I have a substantial collection of books/brochures/magazines/etc. from over the years. I have all the US and JDM dealer brochures, all the RX-7 Magazines from Japan, you name it.

Tracking down that stuff now is CRAZY hard.

Yep, that's half the fun. But, wish I had caught on a few years earlier. I keep hearing how difficult it is nowadays.

I hope somebody enjoys these silly posts enough to get into it themselves. It's definitely out there, if you're patient.

Had the bumper frame off, replaced all the body grommets and cleaned everything out. Starting to come back together...

Good to clean out the rain channels, it can get gross under there, after 25+ years: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...umper-1131908/

I like the posts, but don't know if I will collect anything. I do need to get some rotary paraphernalia for my garage though.... couple flags or posters or something.

very nice thread !! she looks gorgeous, and very good booklets you've got here too.
Why did you remove your engine bay mods back to stock ? I'm glad you did it, I love it stock, just wanted to know the reason.
Also, thanks for sharing those photos of the trunk tools trays, I've got one in mine (tools totally rusted) but I ignored there were 2 trays ! My upper one is missing, so now I have to find one on ebay...

Thanks for the kind words. I took it back to stock to pass local regulations, and get a sense of how all the stock systems were functioning. Seemed like the mods were causing a little weirdness with boost control. Cars running great, and now waiting to get put back together, so I just haven't put them back on yet.

I had luck finding the tools stuff on ebay and I see some on YAJ. Most of the kit is the same as the NA Miata kit or other period Mazdas, apart from the foam trays. The UK crowd seems to get a good supply of JDM OEM parts with less confliction/confusion.

Alright, thanks !
I just found the tray alone en ebay, I'd just have to find the right tools to fit in.
I see there's a screwdriver, 2 wrenchs, and what is the other tool ? looks like a weird plier, isn'it ?

That's right. Some of them are still available, but the pliers are NLA.

The ole RX-8 + CX-7 emblem trick. I like it.

Your car is beautiful, as always. Nice to see those base seats. Good thinking on the fire extinguisher.
Love all the manuals you assembled. I have most of the brochures (and every article ever written). Your emblem has me thinking about it again. I de-badged mine (and filled any mounting holes though).

Thanks, @gmonsen . I thought about de-badging, but decided on something more impermanent. I heard it was difficult to do a nice job of filling and painting the holes. To cover the holes with the new-style badge you have to be slightly creative with the placement. It's ever so slightly askew, but I think it looks good when I suspend my preconceptions. Won't put the bumper skin back on for a couple weeks probably, so keeping my options open, I guess lol. Working on restoring the trunk lock and tail lights.

I do like the base interior a lot. The seats are comfy and seem to hold up well. I fancy some Recaro buckets, but it would be a tight fit to say the least.

I should do a nice job of scanning the literature and we could probably start a cool thread with @DaleClark . I should have a couple new oddities on the way.

I had a good friend who's a high quality body and paint guy fill them when it was painted. They used lead, I believe. Haven't seen any "dimpling" where they were. I might be willing to scan my articles for a thread with you and Dale and whoever...

That Rx-7 might look good where you have the wings style Mazda emblem. I have made up so many different badges and stuff and haven't been sure enough to do anything.

Right before Covid took off, I had ordered some real cool JDM baubles (a Mazdaspeed Rotor Mascot Keyring and an Efini Umbrella) from one of my favorite JDM parts resellers.

Now that the car is all back together, the umbrella can go to it's new home. I had been eyeballing the umbrella for quite a while, and I love it. Paint is a little chipped on the handle, but I think I could repaint that pretty easy if I get so inclined. I need some nice new keys, so I can use the mascot key ring. I tried getting news keys cut for the FD, but the Ace Hardware didn't cut them right. They are cut too tight for comfortable use. Lesson learned. Gonna try a locksmith when I get a chance.

Been cruising a couple times. Saw a cool hot rod. Enjoying the 99 spec tails.

Picked up a new brochure I hadn't seen before. Not much different than other options brochure on the inside, except it seems lighter on content and had a pretty good detail of the JDM radio options. Still like it. Should have some other ones coming in and maybe some cool updates soon, cause life is too short to not put weird parts on your car.

Also did you know swapping hatches is a pain in the butt? Now to find someone to paint it on the car. I really need a beater truck...

Now that's a classic mod, do you need new hatch shocks to support it or the R1 shocks can hold it up?

Thanks. It's actually growing on me. The regular shocks can almost do it, but not quite. Not sure if the wing is putting it over the top. But, I plan to get some of those higher charged hatch shocks I've heard about.
