Rotary Addiction, Fc3schick87's FD build
Some of you may remember my fc build from 2005-2010 or so, ln 2013 l purchased a silver 93 rx7 with red interior, automatic. lt was in need of much repair and seemed to be gutted. lt was going to be a challenge but nothing l couldn't handle.
This is the build of that fd, l will try to remember to update this, though it is often easier for me to simply make IG posts that also post to FB under the Rotary Addiction name.
When l first purchased this fd back in 2013 l had no plans for it other then i had a jspec motor sitting and waiting. The silver fd did come with a motor but it was in unknown condition. Over the years l pulled the motor and broke it down and found l had a really good rebuildable motor, having the jspec and the original motor, l still purchased an already build motor with intent to making an easier "turn key" start up rather then headache of new ecu, new wiring, and hard start on new motor. Any one who has rebuilt a motor and slapped it in knows that sometimes its hard to start at first.
I sold my 87 fc that I built, to fund the 93 rx7 build.
The build, to this day, consists of:
elite 1500 with premium flying lead harness
iq3 street dash display
many haltech sensors
(2)id1000 (2) ev 2200
Built 2 apex oil pan and power steering relocation
elite rotary intake manifold
elite rotary 4 injector fuel rail 2ndary, and primary
push connect an fittings
Rotary Shack short shifter
Rotary Shack ABS delete kit
5 speed swap
Apex hydraulic soft lines
gt3582r turbo with t4 divided turbine housing
elite rotary dual dump turbo manifold and down pipe
tial 44 waste gates (turbosmart 45 is better clearance will upgrade later)
cx racing v mount (will upgrade later if needed)
The goal is about 450-500, or what ever this set up will get me.
Another goal of mine is to learn everything I can and do all of the work l can, myself. l am learning the build process, problem resolutions, such as plumbing routing and adapters needed to make everything work. basically all aspects of the build l am seeking out all info l can to be able to not only build something, but also maintain it myself with the exception of the tune, and any aluminum welding that may be needed.
