Rediscovery of FD Joys. New journeys.

So my car has sat up for a long time and I wanted to bring it back from the dead. It’s an FD with very low miles and I used to enjoy this car. I have a handful of toy cars and I’m having trouble remembering what I’ve done to the car in the past.

I’ve cleaned up rubber bits. New tires belts and hoses. I’ve replace the battery and all the filters/ fluids. It’s been started from time to time over the years but not really driven much.

The car has fired right up and I’m on the path or rediscovery of FD fun. My plan is to keep the car and use it when I come to town not that I live part of the year in Sydney and part in New Orleans.

On my path I’m keeping the car as stock as possible. It’s had some mods in the past but I’m not changing anything else. I want to clean up the seats with some leather restore kit and fix some annoying problems.

My biggest annoying problem is that is stalls going around the corner when below 1/2 tank of fuel. I’ve read that fuel tank baffles cause this. I’ve removed the fuel pump and looked into the fuel tank. It looks perfectly clean and the pump pressure/volume tests fine.

After that I plan on fixing the temp gauge. Both an aftermarket temp gauge and the stock one has the same wrong reading. The ECU is reading the correct temp though.

My immediate plan is driving to Houston from New Orleans this weekend. Not sure if I will make it but the car is fun to drive so far! Wish me luck!
Is there supposed to be a baffle inside this plastic box of the tank?

Nice. The JDM cars came with a baffle, later in life. But, the USDM version never did. You can get an aftermarket baffle from SakeBombGarage.

Thank you. Yellow is my favorite color for a sports car! My car has the wing on the back like yours but I took it off becuase
i thought it was aftermarket. I have the wind in the garage. Was the wing an option? A popular aftermarket dealer add on or part of some package? How long have you had your car?

Does the baffle get installed through the fuel pump hole? I’m sure the car did not stall low of fuel like that when it was new. What changed?

is SakeBomb a reliable company to order from?

My next plan is to clean up the seats and order a lot from leather magic dye the cracked spots. Anyone know what color these seats are? I will post up some some kit info I’m looking into.

They are a light tan but I’m wondering is that have some official color name or if there is some king of color code on the bottom of the seat?
