No it shouldn't, probably need to be taken out and cleaned or replaced. Did you post this issue recently? I had the same problem, filled the tank up but it only indicated a 3/4 tank.

I bought a gasoline additive called P. I. (performance improver) a AMS oil product costs about $10. Comes in 355 ml plastic bottle. Pour the whole thing and top off tank. Let it sit for a day or so, then drive around to slosh the mixture.

It took my gauge gas needle to read "full" about several days. It's still working after two tank fills w/o P I product, hope this does the trick for you. Don't use the cheap STP or other injector cleaners.

It helps to remove moisture and clean the injectors at the same time. I've been using it for about a year now in conjunction with AMS cycle oil for extra lube.

Try this out, if that does not work, then you may have to pull it out and physically inspect it.

good luck
