TX Fuel gauge

After 3 weeks of not using the FD I discovered that the fuel gauge died.

The needle is stuck at empty with a full tank.

I'm not a mechanic.

Can someone share their experience regarding this issue? I mean, is it usually the gauge or maybe the fuel tank not "sending" the signal?

Thanks in advance.

Mine did the same thing, turns out the sending unit in the tank wasnt grounded properly. Or it could be the floating piece on the sender has come off. Pull the fuel pump assembly from the tank and take a look.

If something has gone bad with the sender (I've seen them go out) the sender itself isn't terribly pricey from Mazda.
